I've been looking to find an electrician to fix a problem with some wiring at my house. I called this company because I've seen their trucks in Salinas and decided to call. The rep. on the phone transferred me to the supervisor who she said handles all jobs. I left a short voice message with this person and haven't received a courtesy call back. I read all the nice reviews on their website and thought that this company was pretty good but I don't think I would ever call this company again in the future, poor customer service on their part.

Fortunately, I have not had the terrible misfortune of working with this company personally. However, I have unfortunately had to encounter some of their workers. Took my dogs to the local park to play and one of their workers harassed my wife and then the next day me! I made the terrible mistake of returning thinking there was no way that they would allow a drunk and belligerent worker to return to the site. Wow was I wrong!!! I even spoke with the HR manager only to be brushed off and blamed for the whole incident because my Labrador retriever must have threatened him. I am appalled at how they run their business. If you're in the Marina area BEWARE!!!! This gentleman will come at you unprovoked. HOPEFULLY our community will be SAFE once these people are done with whatever it is their doing. The only good person at this company is the receptionist who answered my calls. If I ever need any electric work done these people will be the last place I call!!

Super great job !! Thank you Roldan. Came on time. Completed the work that was asked in a timely manner. He was very professional and pleasant. Dave a shout out to you. Thank you for answering my email and sending Roldan out to my house. I will decently calling you folks again. We are so happy to know we can call JM Electric for a professional quality job.

Robert from JM Electric was great. We had a intermittent problem. Not only was he on time he found the problem and was very professional. The price was comparable. We did have other company's come out but they were rude, high priced or did not even show up. Thank you Robert and JM Electric I will never call anyone else. And guess what the Problem is fixed.

JM Electric was going to charge me $1700.00 for something that I was able to get done for $125.00 after getting 2 more estimates and reading the building codes for residential kitchen myself.
Both licensed electricians that I called after JM agreed that most of the work that was recommended by JM was totally unnecessary.
I read the reviews from satisfied customers and I am wondering if they inflated the estimate they gave me because they thought I was ignorant about such things, or because I was elderly. It really brought home how important it is to get several estimates and read the building codes yourself before committing to a contractor.

JM came out to our work site and did great work. We would recommend them for any electrical job. Charlie was awesome.

They are great! I always call them for any of my electrical needs pertaining to my facility! Look no further call JM ELECTRIC ask for Charlie and or call their Manager David!

Seriously, don't waste you're time with these guys unless you're trying to get overcharged for minimal work. Allow me explain:
I called them in to install 16 LED canopy fixtures(that I bought at a local company and they recommended these guys.); the electrician told me that he does this job all the time and he said it was a simple mount and hard wire. So based off of what he told me I assumed that the very first fixture was going to take an hour or two longer, because I understand that the electrician has to figure out how to retrofit the led fixture that we provided.
So he told me to give him time the first day to get the hang of the new fixtures, then the rest will be easier and faster to do. After spending 3.5 hours researching one fixture he concluded he needed to call his boss in for a second opinion. After discussing with his boss, Steve, we concluded we needed to contact the manufacture for instructions on snipping the power connector to the LED fixtures. A couple weeks later I called JM back after getting instructions we decided to proceed with the way their electrician suggested. We are still on just one fixture at this point, which has been ""semi-mounted"" for more than two weeks. The second time they came out to work on the project, they spent 5 hours trying to fit the ballast the way they suggested in the beginning. At this point I stopped the work because of the incurred hours, and the fact that they were still working on the first fixture. I told them I will contact the manufacture regarding installation instructions AGAIN because I noticed the work is taking too long, and the way they suggested how the ballast to be mounted would cause it to be in contact with the weather.
So in the end, I called another company(Wright Bros) in to get an estimate and get a second opinion on installation procedures. They came through and set everything up with no issues what so ever. They even went above and beyond their scope of work installing covers for the ballast, and all within half the time JM Electric would have taken.
JM Electric made me feel like I got taken advantaged of, they sent me a bill for 8.5 hours of incurred labor, But these guys literally stood around scratching their head at $125/hour and only got one fixture done. That is absolutely absurd.
The grand total for the incurred labor: $1062.5
To EVERYONE out there that needs electrical work done, please BEWARE of these guys, I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. Thanks for reading

JM Electric worked very hard to find a part for a 25 year old light fixture for me. The new part works great, and due to their extra effort, we did not have to tear up the ceiling and replace the whole unit. Thank you, JM, I am sure this light will work for another 25 years. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Great service!
My wife and I recently purchased our first home, it's an older house built in the 1950's. During Escrow the home inspector found, among other things, a handful of minor electrical items to be fixed. It's an older home so we weren't surprised and decided to purchased the house. As soon as we got the keys we called JM electric to fix those items on the list; one of our friend's highly recommended them. While crawling in the attic and under the house in the crawl space the electrician noticed we have much bigger problems than one or two outlets needing to be replaced. None of our outlets were grounded which I guess makes it easy to be electrocuted, all the recessed can lights in the living room had exposed wires in the attic which the electrician said is a fire hazard and a sign the previous homeowner did it himself, the light fixture above our shower was not rated for exposure to moisture, our electrical panel was not up to code...etc. The funny part is we talked to our new neighbors and told them about all our electrical issues and our neighbors confirmed the previous homeowner did a lot of the ""upgrades"" himself!
JM gave us a list of everything they found and explained which items were cosmetic, minor, major and fire hazards or life threatening. We then chose which items we felt were the most important to us and fixed what we could afford to. The nice part is we still have the list the electrician gave us in case we ever decide to fix the remaining items. Not once did JM try to pressure us or up-sell anything. I just wish I had given them a call to check out the home instead of the home inspector which charged us an arm and a leg and obviously wasn't worth it. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
