I'm happy to say that all my experiences with IRBIS (San Jose & RC) re communication, sales, scheduling, San Jose replacement of old HVAC with energy efficient Mitsubishi HeatPump/AC/new metal ducting, and my first 6 month checkup after signing up for the regular maintenance program -- were very positive. All the workers were professional, kind, respectful of me and my property, and diligent workers.

A week after the installation, the system was tested for leakage which was at 5% or less (the best score possible).

Then the RC Inspector came to check the project as is required; he refused to give a Pass because the installers left a few items (tape, aerosol can, wiring) on top of the Heat Handler as well as some work debris left under the ducting on the ground in the crawl space. The Inspector also wanted more taping around the air intake and over any insulation that was showing. After letting IRBIS know this, they very promptly sent a technician out to take care of the issues. The work crew consisted of 4 guys every day for 2 weeks.

This project was HUGE. The guys did a great job designing and installing the new dual zone ducting in the attic and crawl spaces of my 1974 2-story building. As for value, since I chose the most durable, efficient and expensive products (Mitsubishi Brand & Metal Ducting), it definitely made a dent in my savings. Because the products are Energy-tagged, I did receive some significant rebates. I'm glad that I went with the best. With every passing day, the US Dollar buys less. So I might as well buy Quality if I can since I may not be able to afford the same product a few years from now.

This is a great company!!! They overcharged me $11,642.17 and they will not admit that they made a mistake.

If you want a company that does good work but overcharges you this is the company for you!!!

Here is the real story.
The project was going well, so I decided I wanted to reward the company for the good work by quickly paying for the final part of the bill using my credit card.

However, five minutes after I paid the bill I got a call from my Sales Rep Sonny, who said I would be billed an additional 3% (even though their website did not say anything about the additional charge).

He said that he would cancel the credit card charge and asked that I provide a check to the installers the next day - and I agreed.

However, he called back and said that he could not cancel the credit card transaction and that I would need to do so. I again agreed and called up the credit card company disputed the charge and the next day gave the installers the final check.

Weeks later I saw a notice that the company challenged the dispute and had been billed an additional $11,642.17.

I called up the credit card and proved that the company had overcharged me. (I sent them faxes of the cashed checks)

I later got a call from Timmy (from Irbis) who did not understand why I was so upset and he admitted that he could not find all the checks in their accounting system.

My fault was hiring them in the first place - it's a mistake I will never do again.

IRBIS has been great to work with to install electric water heater. The initial consultation/quotes (done by Sonny) was very thorough and quick. It's great that IRBIS team takes care of all the paperwork for rebates and permits. The actual installation (done by Alberto and Ivan) were done very professionally and upholds high standards. They got all the job done in one day and did a pretty good job ensuring the aesthetics of the installation (conduits and all).

We contacted IRBIS Heating because our thermostat failed, which meant our heater stopped working during a chilly week. Our technician, Christian, was able to come out the next morning to inspect our thermostat and heater. He replaced our thermostat, and in doing so, realized that the company we hired 17 years ago to replace our heater failed to update the wiring on the thermostat for a two cycle heater. We've dealt with an insufficiently warm house since then, with the heater constantly running. Christian installed the new thermostat, inspected and balanced the heater, and inspected the duct work in the attic. I can't even begin to imagine how much money we've wasted on natural gas since the heater was installed 17 years ago, but Christian assured us that our energy costs would definitely come down. He was professional, spent a lot of time with us, and was a great problem solver. Our house is finally warm without the heater constantly cranking! Thank you Christian at IRBIS Heating & Plumbing!!

My wife and I are not big review writers but IRBIS HVAC did a great job replacing the water heater in our home with a brand new energy efficient heat pump system. We had an urgent situation (right before Thanksgiving!) where our water heater gave out and really appreciated IRBIS prioritizing our situation for quick scheduling.

To start, Ray came out to our home and clearly explained the process to undergo the conversion from traditional gas water heater to new hybrid heat pump water heater. He took photos / videos of our setup and was able to quickly pull together a quote. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of questions regarding why heat pumps should be sized up for similar hot water delivery capabilities as well as explain why 240V models are preferred over the 120V plug-in versions. To close, he walked us through all of the rebates and costs and processes.

In install day, Daniel R., Crescencio, and Gustavo showed up exactly on time at 8:00a prepared with all of the materials and tools to complete the job. It was clear that they all have done this many times before as they were efficient and got all of the work done within 5.5h. After installation, they swept, cleaned up, and picked up all of the garbage. Daniel walked us through the complete install and explained how to operate our new system.

Finally, shortly after the installers left, we received a courtesy call from IRBIS and Ray to prepare us for the next steps to complete all of the rebates and permitting.

We are so thankful that IRBIS was able to quickly and professionally get our hot water restored. From beginning to end, this was a great experience. Needless to say, we would recommend IRBIS to anyone!
