Just when I thought my AC survived this brutal summer, it started making a screeching noise.
Reached out to the Irbis team on Yelp and got a prompt response within an hour. I was able to set up the initial diagnostic appointment for the next day. They do have a dispatch fee which can be waived if you go with them for the repair. On the day of the appointment, I got a reminder via text and email which had the name and picture of the technician. William helped check the system and was quickly able to identify the issue. He also helped check that our system was still in warranty. He took care of calling the company and getting the parts and got the system fixed in a very short duration. Would recommend Irbis HVAC for any issues.

I had requested for heat and AC tune up. Technician explained me what will be checked and was straightforward . After the inspection he shared the concerns with pictures and shared it with me.

Tim from IRBIS contacted me to patch up the bad interaction I had with the company. He stayed available to me for any further questions. He sent to my home another inspector that understood what he was looking at.
Tim gave me a quote for repairing a large rat hole in the flexible conduit in the attic, where it joins the wall, and installing a fluke where they had access without having to break the wall.
The quote was $1300, $1000 for the rat hole repair, and 300 for the fluke. Tim stated this price included a 30% or 25% discount. He mentioned 30% once and them 25% the second time.
The job appears to be well done and the fluke is working.
I am pleased with the end result. I wish it was smoother from the beginning.
The cost still appeared quite high to me, but I did not get another estimate.

I did not receive service from IRBIS, so consider this a review of the conversation BEFORE deciding which company to go with.
There were two star deductions for the following reasons:
1. I sent a picture with the manufacturing tag of the AC and was still asked what the age of the system is (that information is on the tag, does not look professional)
2. The service fee for dropping by and looking at the system was 30% higher than average, a statistical outlier.
Again, this review is about selecting a company, not about their actual service.

We recently picked IRBIS to install a Carrier Infinity Series forced-air furnace with the Wi-Fi-connected Infinity thermostat/control unit. We selected this furnace for efficiency and quietness and it is really great on both counts. IRBIS did a fine job and while there were 2 install-related issues, they resolved them quite well.

Not good experience. Technician came out opened the cover on the unit without actually doing any diagnosis other than looking at at connection, didn't explain what the issue is. Told me the refrigerant leak is going to cost $2500. Provided me 3 options all costing $2000+. I haven't run into this before so I was just a little skeptical. Paid $115 cents inspection fee. I contacted the other company and they were much better at explaining the issue and gave me reasonable estimate and expectation before coming out for inspection.

In the past, we had asked two technicians to come fix the AC for an issue with weak airflow but they just added freon but didn't solve the core issue; even after adding the freon it was leaking.

Jonathan was able to recognize and diagnose the problem with our AC right away and fixed the problem. He also provided us some basic knowledge regarding AC management such as maintenance of the filter. Very professional and friendly, we recommend Jonathan and would call him again should the need arise.

The interaction started with Raymond who very professional and helped us understand all the options and configurations was not pressuring us to upsell and also provided information for Rebates etc. Derek was the project manager.

Daniel Rodriguez and Eric Black did the installation of the HVAC- Heat pump and did a meticulous job. Very professional, took the time to walk you through the installation and configuration. They came prepared, ensured all furniture and closets were moved away and/or sealed, protected floor where they accessed.

Based on my experience and my friend's (who recommended them), I feel IRBIS team at San Jose deserve this rating.
