OUR FOUNDER'S STORY:
Walter Schenewark was brought into the world in San Diego on November 29, 1908, and spent his early years in the city of Stockton. Eventually, Walt established himself in Modesto and learned the electrical trade from his uncle, Chas Lentz, serving as an electrical technician. In the year 1935, Walt and partner Al Johnson created Industrial Electrical Company (informally called The Shop) on J St in Modesto CA. They worked on contracting services and repairing motors. The business moved to its existing location, 1417 Coldwell Avenue, in the late 1950s.

Recommended Customer Reviews

Air gas sent my machine to them without my consent. They grinded brand new parts, said i needed to replace new parts I bought from air gas. In the process of not being able to figure out what was wrong with it, broke my roller housing. Said they were going to "" look at it and diagnose it"" they have no idea how to fix anything. Also accused me of braking the roller housing myself. I ended up taking my welder to get properly fixed at All Phase Welder repair in Sacramento where I live. He said he has never seen a broken roller housing nor "" wore out rollers"" which were brand new in his 20 years experience repairing machines. This place is a joke, they returned my machine missing parts that were with it when it got sent to them. Welding nozzle, insulator, power plug for the gun. Don't take anything here, they will try and rip you off. Attached are a few photos of some damaged parts and a tag on another customer who denied repairs because they tried to rip them off as well. You have been warned, avoid this place at all cost

Onan generator repair in my RV.
So for 9 years owning my '03 RV, the generator performed flawlessly at the seashore and high in the mountains (9,000 ft) with only yearly oil, air filter and spark plug changes. Suddenly this August at 8,600 ft it won't run. Two weeks later near Santa Cruz it won't run at sea level either. So changed the oil, filter, and plug with genuine Onan parts and runs fine in Modesto heat. Take it to IE Co., tell them the issue and ask that they not replace the new Onan parts that I paid a premium for. $950 later for new carb, I get =
RESULTS: go back up to the high country gen will not run. Get intermittent cell service so able to ask gen tech if anyting I can do, he suggests turning altitude adjustment = no run. Check the plug, it's wet with gas and instead of the Onan I bought they have replaced it with a new Champion plug!! and likely tossed my brand new Onan plug in the garbage!!
So take it back to IE Co. and explain its not running. They run diagnostics, find the carb is out of adjustment, adjust to all factory specs and charge another $200!!! with no guarantee that it will run in the mountains!!! What crap. Never going back.

We have been using them for a few years now for our generators for a few of our vans. They work with our busy schedule and always do a good job! I would highly recommend them

Needed service for Onan generator in my toyhauler. Worked with Tyler at Industrial Electrical, he got it fixed for me as promised. Would highly recommend Industrial Electrical for your Onan generator service.

I've worked for IEC over 15 years. I am proud to work for this Family Owned Local Company who positions customer's, employee's and family first.

We bought a Toshiba 30hp motor about 6 months ago. After installing the motor it would not work. We checked all of the wire diagram to make sure it was correct and it was. We then called the company and they sent a service tech to see if they could figure out the problem and it would still not work. They offered to have the motor tested and if it was a defect in the motor they would get us a new motor. After 6 months of going back and forth with them, getting the run around, them not returning any calls, we finally went down and they said that moisture got in the motor and they would not cover it and we were out $1500.00. What I don't understand is if it never worked in the first place how did we cause the moisture issue. Do not recommend them and will never go back to them again.

As a former employee of this company, I would definitely recommend working for Industrial Electrical. It is a friendly work environment with many opportunities to advance. I had a great relationship with my direct supervisors and genuinely enjoyed coming into work everyday.

I received great service from the motor shop department at Industrial Electrical. I called in, explained my issue, then had a repair scheduled for the same day!

Rich is good they diagnosed my Onan 4000 perfectly. They also squeezed me in two days before we were going out of town. Just when I thought they already had done a good job. He met me after hours so I could pick up my RV. Rich gave me excellent customer service. I would recommend them to anyone.
