Mark at Independent Electric is the best. He arrives on time and doesn't waste your time. He is knowledgeable, reliable and professional. I have used him twice for different problems and he made improvements to both light fixtures. I asked about recessed lighting for my living room and he was so honest in his response. So let me start by saying ""I rarely give reviews"" BUT I felt I needed to let everyone know what a great job Mark and his crew did for us. Finding an electrician who is reasonable and reliable is not an easy task. I got quotes from 3 different companies. Two of them rescheduled on us last minute to give us quotes. Not a good way to start. We did not have a big job, we just needed a couple of ceiling fans put up and some outlets replaced. These guys showed up on time and had a great attitude. They answered all my questions without making me feel like I was wasting their time. Needless to say, I went with Independent Electric. They arrived on time to start their work, finished quickly and best of all, they cleaned up after they were done. All the time while they were here, they had a great attitude. There are too many choices out there not to have exceptional customer service, and these guys did. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an electrical company.

We had some CFL bulbs that we needed to convert to LEDs that were over our stairs. Impossible and a pain to replace if the bulbs go out...which is why we wanted to convert to the longer lasting LEDs. Really difficult to get to since it requires a decent sized ladder on stairs. They did an awesome job. Would definitely recommend them and would go to them for all of our electric needs. Super happy! Mark answered our yelp quote request right away via email, and came out within a few days. (We'd already had 2 electricians keep putting off our appt because they were too busy with bigger jobs.) While giving the estimate, he noticed that a circuit had tripped that I hadn't even been aware of. He was incredibly kind and solicitous about checking it out- didn't pressure me to do it, and when I asked him to, he and Eric did a very thorough job of figuring out what the problem was, and never charged me for this extra bit. Based on his conscientiousness and courteousness, I decided he was the guy for our job.
Due to a cancellation, he was able to squeeze us in right away. He did a great job installing the light I requested. I really appreciate his attention to detail- they carefully measure out where it would go, and put a visible mock-up for me to see, and let me have the final say in location before going ahead and cutting into the wood. The light works great on my 2-way switch- something I really appreciate tonight, coming home in the rainy dark.
Mark and Eric also installed a gfci outlet for me for our outdoor fountain. I had a handyman offer to do this for us- but I would rather choose a licensed electrician when it comes to making sure my circuit won't overload and burn down the garage. I am really glad I went with Mark, he was very thorough in tracing back our outdoor circuitry to make sure that the new outlet would be able to meet my needs and stay safe. He was great about talking through options with me- I hadn't been aware that I could hook my fountain up the the outlet with a remote. He did a great job, and my kids are super happy with the fountain, and that remote!
While they were there, we got to talking about light- and Mark had a great suggestion for an update we could do for our can lights. He went ahead and bought the light for me to see and test out. Once again, no pressure, and super thoughtful.
I will happily refer Mark, and call him if we ever have any electrical needs in the future. Thank you for the fast service, the great attitude, and the attention to detail!

Christmas lights!

Christmas Lights! December 2016! Mark and Eric certainly helped a mom in an air-cast out today and figured out our beloved exterior Christmas lights. They re-jiggered my crazy system, upgraded us to a couple GFI waterproof timers and voila! Here's what makes perfect economic & time management sense for busy people: 1. An answer to my Yelp email within 60 minutes. 2. House call to my home on the same day, rare, yes but it was my lucky day. 3. They identified what 'might' be the problem without stacking the deck with false-hope. 4. They laddered up and did an assessment and made the agreed upon improvements. 5. Fair price, done in an hour and I paid digitally through PayPal. Boom.

If you're looking for good, profesional, clean, reliable electrical work this is the guys to call. Mark and his crew are very profess, answer any questions you have, and don't break the bank.
I had a couple outlets that seemed to have a short or at least about to. Every time I plug my George Forman grill it'll spark and would only work if it was half way plugged out. So I got on my handy dandy phone to look for an electrician before I hurt myself doing what I have no idea what to do. Mark gave me a quote, sent his crew, then wham-bam there I was grilling chicken breasts without the fear of burning down my house. Although I hope I don't have any electrical problems again, I will definitely be referring them to anyone who does.
