Tom Kretzschmar, our President, graduated from Southwest Texas State University, is part of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and collaborates with the American Society of Interior Designers as an Industry Partner. Kretzschmar's background traces back to one of Texas' oldest and most esteemed electrical contracting firms, Rulon Electric, founded by his grandfather over 65 years ago. Following his graduation from Southwest Texas State University, Kretzschmar developed his expertise at Rulon and founded Illuminations Lighting Design in 1980. Initially, Illuminations focused on art lighting and cabinetry, but soon broadened its scope to encompass all types of aesthetic lighting design, including landscape lighting and domestic electrical contracting. Tom has received three US Patents for custom lighting fixtures, which are distributed globally under the Phantom Lighting Systems trademark.
