Tom Kretzschmar, the President, holds a degree from Southwest Texas State University, is affiliated with the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and is an Industry Partner with the American Society of Interior Designers. Kretzschmar's background traces back to one of Texas' oldest and most esteemed electrical contracting firms, Rulon Electric, founded by his grandfather over 65 years ago. Following his graduation from Southwest Texas State University, Kretzschmar developed his expertise at Rulon and founded Illuminations Lighting Design in 1980. Illuminations began by specializing in lighting fine art and cabinetry, but quickly expanded to cover all forms of artistic lighting design, such as outdoor illumination and residential electrical contracting. Tom has received three US Patents for custom lighting fixtures, which are distributed globally under the Phantom Lighting Systems trademark.
