Tom Kretzschmar, the President, holds a degree from Southwest Texas State University, is affiliated with the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and is an Industry Partner with the American Society of Interior Designers. Kretzschmar's background traces back to one of Texas' oldest and most esteemed electrical contracting firms, Rulon Electric, founded by his grandfather over 65 years ago. Upon graduating from Southwest Texas State University, Kretzschmar polished his abilities at Rulon and launched Illuminations Lighting Design in 1980. Initially, Illuminations specialized in fine art illumination and cabinetry, but rapidly grew to include all varieties of artistic lighting design, including garden lighting and home electrical services. Tom has received three US Patents for custom lighting fixtures, which are distributed globally under the Phantom Lighting Systems trademark.
