I heard about Scott through the Tesla forums. I needed a 240V, 40A connection for 2 electric cars. I had only one 50A slot open in my panel. Scott provided me all the options, and it showed that he cared about keeping my cost down. The option I chose needed some engineering on his part, and he did a perfect job. We used the one open slot to power two NEMA 14-50 outlets through a transfer switch with a timer for each outlet. Now, I can program the timers so that one car charges for part of the night and the other car the rest of the night. He is a highly skilled and knowledgeable electrician, does neat/clean work, is a perfectionist, and is friendly and easy to work with. The cost of this complex installation was very reasonable as well.

I've used Illumeffects for tons of jobs at my house. (Ceiling fans, outdoor lights, motion detectors, whole house fans, accent lights, etc...) I first found Scott through the ServiceMaster referral system a few years ago, and I figure if you find someone you like, you need to stick with him. Scott has lots of great ideas and suggestions and isn't pushy at all. He gives you options for what you want done and lets you make the call. I only gave Scott 4 stars because he is distracted a lot. He isn't the most punctual person I've hired, but his work more than makes up for that. He takes lots of phone calls while on the job, but in the end, he does good work, cleans up after himself, and stands behind his work if you ever have any issues. I would recommend him, and will use him for future electrical jobs.

It's not often I feel compelled to rave enthusiastically about a business, but Scott at Illumeffects is the gold standard. He's done a couple major projects for me now (main panel upgrade, new subpanel installed in new location, installation of new outlets, fixtures in kitchen, bathroom and greatroom,etc.). He's on time, professional, works hard and efficiently, offers suggestions (on things that would've cost me more money down the line that I hadn't thought of), but is also great about offering ideas to help keep me on budget. He came to me as a recommendation from a friend and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.
