10 stars actually.....I hired Esed to do a complete Electrical Upgrade of an 80 year old home. The challenge is that it is a lath and plaster finish, make an electrical upgrade more challenging. The project included getting a permit for all of the work, installing light fixtures, over 35 new grounded plugs, 7 new circuits, removal of an ancient fuse box, installation of many light switches and dimmer switches, and wired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, all to code.

Esed had an in depth meeting with us for which he charged for his time. This meeting was essential in order to define the scope of the project and how much it would cost. His written estimate was detailed and realistic. Along the way we ended up installing extra wired smoke alarms, and light fixtures in locations where it was not easy to install them. Because some of the fixtures did not come in on time, Esed had to return a few times. Getting the permit finaled was another time consuming thing to do. Had I known Esed was such an awesome Electrician, I would not have pulled the permit, but I needed to be sure no shortcuts were taken. Esed is not a shortcut type of Electrician. He does his work super professionally and he has excellent communication skills.

A word about Craftsmanship: Esed's work is super clean and beautifully executed. Even the wires inside the boxes are super clean in execution. If he has to make a hole in your plaster, it is a clean easy to patch hole. His hole patching colleague does a beautiful job as well.

A word about Knowledge: Esed is really smart, and his knowledge of Residential Electrical makes him stand out head and shoulders above other Electricians I have used over the years. We had to solve a light fixture challenges and Esed came up with safe, practical and attractive workarounds.
He can explain to a lay person WHY taking a certain approach is the best approach, but he can offer alternatives as well.

To summarize, there were many changes in the scope of the project, initiated by us. Esed did a beautiful job of communicating where things were going, how much things would cost, and how long things would take. His written estimate was professional detailed and easy to understand. He managed not to get frustrated with what it would take to finish the job. Esed is super efficient and gets more done in an hour than many other Electricians. If you are looking for the cheapest Electrician around, Essed is not your guy. If you are looking for the best Electrician around, then Esed IS your guy

After calling around for an electrician to make some repairs in my home office, I lucked into finding Ideal Electric. Not only did a person answer the phone (!), I found an electrician willing to take small home jobs. We talked about my issues and discussed his fees, which I readily agreed to. Esed arrived within the hour and another hour all the work was done. His experience and expertise really shined as he broke the larger problem into 3 and solved each the right way. I will definitely use him again!

I hired Esed after requesting bids from multiple electricians to add a new sub panel and outlet to support an electric dryer to my home in Berkeley. Esed impressed me immediately. He analyzed a photo I texted of my current panel and asked a number of questions to help assess the job. He quoted the job on the phone and helped me understand what it would cost. He was straight to the point and didn't waste any time. He was ready to work on the job the very next day (a Saturday!). The other electricians I spoke with wouldn't have started for weeks after. Esed's bid was significantly less than the others and he was finished within 24 hours. He has a pleasant demeanor and a sense of humor. He left the job site in impeccable condition. Esed came on a Friday night, fixed the problem quickly, then fixed some less urgent stuff because he was still on the clock. Super efficient; quickly figured out what the issue was, came when he said he would, charged what he said he would. Good sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Esed redid a dryer outlet for me. He came on a Sunday, the day after I called him, so that was great. He was efficient and explained what he was doing, and he gave me an accurate bid over the phone for the job. His rates are higher than electricians I've used in the past, definitely at the high end, but you get what you pay for, and I would use him again next time I need someone in a pinch.

Just had Esed switch out a sub panel from fuse to circuits, install recessed lights throughout the house and add ceiling lights in all of the bedrooms in the home i just bought that was older. He was very polite and knowledgable about electrical work. While he was there, a water pipe broke in the kitchen and he helped get it turned off and cleaned up. He was just all all around great guy that did great work and i will use him for all of my electrical needs. Prices were reasonable as well.

Esed didn't end up doing work for us, as he was booked at the time we needed him. That said, he was fantastic to deal with over the phone and more than once tried to move things around to accommodate our schedule and help us. Also was very prompt in returning calls and texts and clear about pricing. Great service!
