Esed Okanovic saved my life...literally!!!! I was feeling strange vibrations through the faucets while showering. Didn't think much of it, 'til other family members described the same thing, and my daughter's hand ""froze up"" on the faucet. Uhhh...I think we have a problem.

Based on Yelpers' ratings (hurray Yelp!) he was the first local electrician I called. But i, anxious about an evidently serous situation, misdialed his number, and coolant reach him that way (note:the Yelp listed phone number IS correct) so then took step 2 of contacting via Yelp's text msg set-up. I then proceeded to phone several other electricians, describing the problem Responses varied from ""Sorry, we can't get there for two weeks...maybe next time"" (gee, thanks!) to ""tTurn off everything immediately...then call someone else because we can't come."" By comparison, Esed texted back immediately upon receiving my worried message, explained his pricing in detail, and said he would come that afternoon...instead of putting me off and scaring me simultaneously, as others had done.

Despite the rainy freeway commute that day, he arrived early, took care of this serious problem (an electrical wire had fallen on the bathtub and shower plumbing) showed me what he'd done, explained it in a way I could understand. When he said, ""It's now safe"" I totally trusted him.

As the icing on the cake to excellent electrical and communication skills, Esed is a lovely and very interesting man. if you're lucky enough to have a few minutes before he leaves for his next appointment, ask him about his travels and his home. He has practiced his skill in countries 'round the world. We are fortunately he's settled here now: not just in the USA, but in the East Bay.

Called Ideal and Esed was at my house within an hour. Knowledgeable and efficient. Went to work immediately to troubleshoot the problem (stuck breaker) and then walked me through how to deal with the issue if it arose again. Also installed a new outlet on the same circuit since the failing outlet was contributing to the breaker tripping over. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Esed. We were forced to make extensive upgrades and repairs to the electrical system of our new home, which included pulling permits to replace the main box as well as work in the attic and crawlspace on our old knob-and-tube wiring.

Esed was very quick to do the initial inspection, gave us a fair price for the work, and took the time to explain every step. He's meticulous and clearly takes pride in his craft, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

Wow, wow, wow! Esed is simply an amazing, super knowledgeable, highly skilled, and honest electrician. I am utterly impressed with his level of skill and professionalism.
About a month ago, we found ourselves in an unsafe situation after hiring a contractor who did now know a lot about electrical work. To make a long story short, we had a small fire--that got me to call Esed. He quickly diagnosed the problem, gave us a reasonable estimate, and then completed the work in a professional and timely manner, all while explaining everything in a non-condescending manner. Now we are safe! He even gave us advice on other work that was not done properly by another person.
Then this evening some lights went out in our kitchen, and resetting the breakers didn't help. I called Esed and he was literally in our house in 10 minutes! I am not kidding you. 15 minutes later he had fixed everything. For someone of his abilities, he could charge an arm and a leg and I'm sure people would pay that, and yet his fees are very reasonable.
Some people are extremely skilled at what they do, taking pride in their work. Some people are extremely professional in the way they deal with customers. Esed is the best of both worlds. I can't thank him enough!

I had a potentially dangerous situation with wires overheating and ""glowing"". I called Ideal based on the Yelp reviews raving about his experience and troubleshooting knowledge. Esed arrived on time and quickly assessed the situation. He went to work immediately and methodically fixed all the wiring to the circuit breaker panel. Then he alerted me to a problem with the meter box and suggested that I contact PG&E. He waited for the utility service man to remove the meter and then fixed the problem within the meter box. I would definitely call Esed for any electrical need but especially for a difficult situation as he is up to any electrical
challenge with his experience and problem solving abilities.

Esed is a total professional and very thorough and conscientious in his work ethic. We bought a 1910 Craftsman Bungalow 3 years ago and the previous owners had done some DIY ""upgrades"" that were executed in a way to appeal to buyers but when the curtain was pulled aside revealed a mess of wires and a scary reality. Esed's approach is to help you achieve the best results for your particular problem and he offers choices to consider along the way. Having dealt with a number of contractors, we were waiting to hear about all the extra expenses we would incur once work began. This did not occur with Esed. He inspected our home and gave us a very reasonable quote on what the work would cost us and advised us about work that wasn't necessary that we thought we may need.

Esed is unique in that he shares his knowledge and is even willing to teach you how to do some of the work yourself if you are so inclined. He is also a great storyteller and we feel lucky to have found him.

he took care of what needed to be fixed and i feel safer now. he knows what he's doing and he is thorough.

i may have been able to find an electrician who charges less, but i've learned through my 70 year life's journey, that you get what you pay for. and it's not good to mess with electrical problems.

a big plus..........esed is a sweetheart. easy to talk with and easy to trust.

The person who answered the phone was amazing. I wanted a service call for an outlet for a garbage disposal that wasn't working.

My diagnosis was that I needed a new circuit breaker. I thought I had reset it properly, but I hadn't. He asked me a few questions to diagnose the problem. Then, he talked me through the proper method of resetting the breaker. Problem solved!

I called back a few minutes later with a second question with that outlet. He analyzed that and gave me directions to resolve it too.

I had called two other companies first. One never called back, and the other said two weeks to come out. If I have any electrical issues in the future, I will call Ideal Electric and recommend him to my friends.

Since there was no charge, I'm happy to write a glowing review in appreciation.
