Michael Hyde, the general manager of Hyde's, runs daily operations with his brothers, Barry and Mark. Michael has been part of Hyde's since it opened its doors in 1972. In his teenage years, he began working by answering phones and organizing documents.

In 1981, Michael graduated with a business degree from Cal State Fullerton. In addition to his accounting expertise, Michael is a NATE certified technician, making him a valuable asset to our team.

Absolutely love this family run business, Mike and his team are as good as it gets. After a less than satisfactory experience with a competitor/shady home warranty provider, Mike came out to personally to inspect what was going on. As it turned out, they had installed the original HVAC and ductwork 40 years ago and again when the full system was replaced a few years back! He presented multiple solutions, and had the repair completed in a matter of days (this after nearly three months of back and forth with the other company). Soon after I joined their regular maintenance program which is very fairly priced. They are fabulous about calling to remind me it's time to schedule their visit. I can see why Hydes has been in the desert so long, they're wonderful!

Called 4 other a.c. companies during this hot summer and Hyde's were the only one who could come by same day within a couple hrs to fix my down a.c. system. Tech was upfront and professional. After some research, found out price was a lil high but well worth it for the fast response and service. Highly recommend!

So very disappointed in the experience I had with Hyde's. Where do I start? My AC system lost freon and the Hyde's technician (Jeff) came to my house to fill up 5 pounds of freon last weekend. He then returned on Monday to do the leak test. Before he arrived two days later, the 5 pounds of freon in the system was gone and no cooling. A leak test was performed and I was advised that my 5 year old system needed to be replaced! What? A few minutes later they advised only the unit itself needed to be replaced at a cost exceeding $5K. I inquired about the warranty and later spoke with Mike Hyde, who indicated the coils should be replaced.

Being suspect of this minimal evaluation, I called out two other AC companies and paid for their diagnostic tests. It was determined I did NOT need to replace the entire unit or even the coils, but I had a malfunctioning Reverse Valve that needed replacing, which was a fraction of the cost of a new unit. I actually saw the leak in the valve, as shown by the other company, Erkies. At no point in time did the Hyde's tech advise of this leak or even check that valve! Unacceptable and poor training and workmanship by this company. Hyde's was very quick to ""upsell"" their customer with an entire system. Anyone with sense would have secured a second or third opinion, which I did and was advised by Erkies that in no way was the replacement of a 5 year old system necessary. Shame on you Hyde's. Buyer beware!

The most unprofessional and disorganized group of service providers I've ever worked with.

We needed TWO Nest thermostats installed, but there was no existing wiring. They told us that they could wiring AND install the thermostats, so we scheduled the service.

And then:
1) The sales rep gave us a quote, but either misspoke or failed to tell us that it was only for one of the thermostats. So the day the tech showed up, they told us the price was double the original quote.

2) the tech realized that one of the thermostats couldn't be installed the way we asked. So instead of installing one, he left the property without installing either.

3) we finally spoke to the owner, and he said that the quote didn't include running the wires, which is why we even used them in the first place!!

4) and then he proceeded to tell me that I didn't understand what I was talking about, and that his sales rep didn't tell me the wiring was included, as if he knew what was discussed in the call. Instead of owning up to the mistake his sales rep made.

Altogether, I spoke to 4 people in the company. None of them had any idea what was going on, and no one was on the same page.

Purchased a new Air conditioning system from Hydes Air conditioning.

it has been installed for 8 months and is still not working properly. the new issue is it keep shutting off by itself!!!!! it is over 100 degrees \. there representative refused to send a tech out to fix the unit.
Was told I will need to wait until tomorrow. the air conditioner has been out for a week now.

I have been a Comfort Plan member of this company for several years. They provide top of the line service and are always friendly, helpful, and communicative. They know what they are doing when it comes to heating and cooling.
My most recent case with Hydes--the air went out in the second week of the hot season. It was 4 pm, so I knew it was going to a long night. I called and they said they would have somebody between 6 and 8.
At 5:45, Michael the owner came to my door. He was out before 645, after diagnosing the problem and fixing everything. My air is running smoothly again.
Let me say that again. On a hot day, the owner came out to complete jobs so customers wouldn't have to wait as long. Pretty awesome, I say.

$26,000 later, still trying to get heating system working. Good luck communicating with ""G.M."", she is not helpful, combative, and definitely NOT a problem solver. Gas company red tagged the entire new three unit system, technicians ""fixed the problem"" she claims but still no heat 30 days later. G.M. asks why I can't send photos of the red tags because the technicians don't know the problem...... THE RED TAGS ARE TAPED ACROSS THE SYSTEM, so I guess they aren't inspecting the units well. Thank goodness for space heaters from Lowe's, the desert gets pretty cold! Received a call from G.M. this morning to schedule a filter replacement ...... needed to remind G.M. they never installed the filters with new system back in August ... still waiting. I'll send them one of their surprise invoices they seem to like sending.
