We engaged with David Hudson of Hudson Renovations for some electrical work on June 7th. We let David know what we needed done and he said he would be over in a few days to take a look after he completed a job in a town nearby. He did not arrive on time and told us he was heading over from Longview where his business was based 45 minutes after he was supposed to arrive. Lie number 1. (And red flag number 1) He was not in fact doing a job nearby. Anyway, he showed up and did some inspection. He spent a good bit of time with us and we felt at ease and like he was qualified to do the job. He asked when we would like it done and we said immediately. He said he could get started early the following week but needed half of the total cost down. We said okay that's fine and immediately wrote him a check. A few days later he stated that none of his banks would accept a check and that he needed cash. (Red flag number 2) We do not bank locally so we asked family to get the cash and asked David to meet them at a business close to where he lives. He was over 30 minutes late. Red flag number 3. Still, we pressed on And paid the total amount due UP FRONT to avoid any more inconvenience to our family members. David then put off showing up because first, nobody local had the product he needed and he didn't do his due diligence and check inventory. Red flag number 4. Then he makes the long trek to Tyler to buy what was needed and his ""water pump goes out"" So now he can't come work. Then he finally shows up, drills a panel and transfer box onto our brick (irreparable damage) and leaves. On his way home his ""radiator goes out."" For days after he's waiting on a radiator and relatively responsive. He said he would be by to finish the job on Father's Day but then goes silent again all day and tells us his kids surprised him so he was occupied. Fine, we understand. I just asked that he communicate. Then a ""tree falls on his house"" and we are thinking man this guy is down on his luck! He then goes radio silent, for days. He then tells us he's been very busy with his family and animals in a hotel and that's why he hasn't been responding. He then goes silent again. He then says he spent all of his money and can't afford gas to get to us anymore but would get paid on the 17th and would be over then. (red flag #5, you don't spend money you haven't get earned) We were truly understanding and stuff does happen, we have all been there. But then he doesn't show up. At this point I've lost count of how many times we waited around for him not to show up. He had an array of excuses including having to sign a dying family members will. Who knows if any were true. He then schedules to come out 3 or 4 more times where he doesn't show up and finally I just say, ""I guess you're not coming again today. I'm in Longview so I can swing by if you just want to work out a refund."" He said ""I was going to come but now you're being rude."" it was at that point that I believe this business owner blocked me. he then would only communicate with my husband who shared my frustration with David and said I would have to take things further if he didn't complete the work or refund us. My husband gave him a deadline of July 12. David then explained this has gotten out of hand and he would get the work done. He again didn't show up for an entire week and finally toward the end of the week we were told he would be there on the 11th. He did not show up. He said ""I'll be there on the 12th no ifs or buts"" and didn't show up. Nor did he communicate and now, to this date, hasn't communicated. We messaged David from another number to inquire about getting a bid and he said he would pack up his truck and head over. We then responded and said it's us, could he head here and do the job we paid $1,675 dollars for? He never responded. I'm writing this review because I feel stupid, I feel stupid for trusting another person who claims Christianity but acts so far from it. He stole from us. He betrayed us. Please protect yourself and do not do business with this man. He calls himself a master electrician but holds no active license with the state of Texas. Whether he does good work or not is besides the point. He lacks integrity and I honestly would be afraid to have him do work here now. That's the end of it. Stay safe and learn from my mistakes.
