Jason is not necessarily a bad electrician and some of the guys who work for him are great electricians. Brittany, in his office, is very helpful. Nevertheless, there are a few insurmountable problems. Jason was the electrical contractor for a house I just finished building from the bottom up. After a few reasonably okay visits, he completely stopped showing up when he was supposed to. When he managed to respond to my calls, texts and emails, he would make commitments and fail to keep them, time after time. Every once in a while, a couple of nice, smart guys would show up in a Hotwirez truck, but they would invariably leave within the hour, either because they hadn't been given the right equipment or some other unknown force was pressuring them--maybe to go fix another mistake at another property? Meanwhile, other contractors had to slow down or stop while they waited for Jason. And yet none of this stopped him from asking for payments before work was completed. He had a very unsettling habit of sharing all kinds of personal information, as if his troubled life were a valid excuse for his work habits. Example: he requested a draw one Friday so that he could pay his guys, who would be ""really bummed"" if they couldn't get paid--as if I were responsible for cash flow at Hotwirez. I never trusted Jason to advance him money. This made him sulky, but I could have handled the moods if the work had been proceeding. Somehow the electrical passed the final inspection, but I soon discovered plenty of glitches. (Such as: the only way to turn on the garbage disposal was to flip the breaker for the smoke alarm!) Jason said he'd be happy to come by and fix said glitches. Twice, I waited, literally for hours, as Jason texted me that he was ""almost there"", ""stuck in traffic"", suddenly had to pick up his kid at karate, etc. etc. Both times, it fell to me to realize that Jason wasn't planning to show up at all, by which time I had lost plenty of hours during which I could have been earning a living. I ended up paying a different electrician to fix the myriad tiny problems Jason couldn't be bothered to address. Don't hire this guy. Something is not right.

★★★★★

Jason and crew have been a pleasure to work with. We manage residential properties and they are easy, quick, and reasonable on their prices. As far as I am concerned, when you hire them they get the job done quickly and painlessly. I would recommend them for small and big projects alike.

In the process of buying a house the breaker panel had stopped working. The seller hired Hot Wirez to come do the repairs. The third day after purchasing the house the washer and dryer get delivered. The dryer outlet wasn't working. I call Jason and he sent his guy Vincente over in under 20 minutes! Vincente was awesome and fixed the panel. Boom my dryer works. Any problems I have I will definitely be calling them.

I have used Jason to complete a few projects around the house including hooking up an AC unit, installing some extra lighting, ect. He was always super friendly and very knowledgeable in electricity. Always left everything clean and completed the jobs in a timely manner. Will using Jason again on future projects.

Jason Cole, the owner of Hot Wirez Electric, is a nightmare contractor. I know because I literally had nightmares during the 6 month period that I had to deal with him.

Jason rewired my entire house. It was the worst professional experience of my life. I use the term ""professional"" loosely.

Jason was scheduled to complete my final electric on November 22nd, 2013. This task should take 3-4 days to complete. He did the 'electrical rough-in' in 3 days, which is as about as much work as 'final electrical.'

Jason lied, misled, manipulated, and ignored me for one and a half months. He held up my entire project, inconvenienced other contractors, and caused me significant financial damage. Because Jason kept ignoring me, I had to resort to calling him repeatedly several times in a row just to get him to answer.

Jason is a liar. I have so many of his lies documented by text, it isn't even funny. ""I'm on my way to the property"" ""I'll take care of everything Monday"" ""I'm so sorry I can stay late today and get the job caught up for you"" and he never, ever showed up. Even his employees all spoke negatively about him. One said ""Yeah he said he's coming, but he says a lot of things"" and then rolled his eyes.

I don't care that his bid was low, I would have paid double to have the work done correctly and on time.

Final electric was finally completed on JANUARY 9TH, 2014. SEVEN WEEKS after he was scheduled to do the work, which should have taken a couple of DAYS.

Last week when Jason came to my property to receive his final payment, he attempted to charge me $225 extra for moving 3 lights (which took 15 minutes by the way). I refused. This company caused me so much financial and emotional damage; he was the sole cause that held up my entire project. I held my ground and paid him the original agreed upon amount in the contract.

He was furious that I wouldn't pay the extra costs. After all that damage he caused me, he didn't think for a second about how unreasonable he was being. He looked at me and said in an angry, sarcastic tone, ""I hope you can sleep at night.""

Well Jason, now that you are out of my life forever, I am sleeping soundly.

Ps- Later that day Jason stole a transformer that I had paid for because he was pissed.

Pps- I'm not even mentioning the fact that I have holes in the back of my glass kitchen cabinets thanks to Jason. Plus he damaged my exterior siding in 4 places and refused to fix it. AND he never finished accent lighting work I paid him for. Ugh. Good riddance.
