Recommended Customer Reviews

I used this company sometime ago and the technician, Francisco, was the same one that came today. My ceiling light socket old and worn out. Francisco was quick and knowledgeable. One of the most courteous and professional service I've experienced with an electrician. Claudette, office manager, was courteous and accommodating in making my appointment and whenever I called for questions. I was quoted over the phone it would be about $200 range and the invoice emailed had $190.
If you want good work, reasonable price and hassle free call this company.

One day the power went out in part of our house so we called Horst and they sent someone out on the same day. Wilman was very knowledgeable and methodical while trying to troubleshoot our issue and he found the problem quickly. Very please with the service and would highly recommend the company.

Very unhappy with their lack of communication and service. Hired them to go to a rental property to fix an outlet in the kitchen. Technician replaced outlet and told tenant he was going to contact me as there were other electrical issues. I was never contacted. The next day, the outlet they had just fixed, was not working. When tenant called them to let them know, they said there were issues with the wiring and stated the panel was old and should be replaced. My issue is that the technician should have contacted me directly while on the job to let me know his thoughts on the electrical issues and to discuss remedies. Instead, he changed the plug which did not fix the problem and they promptly just invoiced me the $125 house call. They, to this day, have never contacted me to discuss any electrical issues technician supposedly found. Instead of contacting me, they put a note on their invoice. They have no communication skills whatsoever which is very unfortunate. They did not fix the problem, yet had no problem sending a bill. I certainly will never recommend this company to anyone.

I have never written a review before even though I use plenty of vendors. This company is by far and away one of the best. Called them and I reached someone pleasant, responsive and who listened, Then, I was promised a time frame and delivered. I called other South Bay electricians who were too busy and much less reasonable. It is nice to know there are still good businesses out there and I will be using them for all electrical work in future.

I have been lucky enough to have found Willy Pozo at Horst through my plumber (Al Garcia Plumbing in Torrance, Ca). Willy is such a nice, patient, honest, and talented electrician, I almost hesitate to share, but he deserves a big 5 points. Thank you Willy, for everything!

Find another company. I hired Horst to install retrofit recessed lights (among other electrical work). He was not the cheapest quote I received (over $10K), but he was recommended from a friend and I initially liked him when I met him. However, the recessed lights he installed did not fully turn off at night (a known issue when using LED lights). When I asked him to fix this problem he was rude and instead blamed it on me for buying the wrong switches (Lutron Maestro) even though they are popular switches because of their added functions. When I asked him why he didn't tell me these switches may not work before he installed them, he got belligerent and insulted me. Then he hung up. For those of you considering LED lights controlled by a Lutron Maestro switch, I would not recommend Horst for the job. He was unable to make that system work and eventually told me that they would need to install switches with less functionality (Lutron Diva). Moreover, if you're looking for someone professional who takes responsibility for their mistakes (and won't be rude and insult you), then I would NOT recommend Horst either.

Worst company ever. It took us forever to set up an appointment and though the technician knows what the heck is doing, the lady who answers the phones needs to be fired. She is very rude and when we finally got the bill, we called A few times to pay, but they always said call back next week. Or call back later. They obviously didn't want our money. We had more work that we wanted to get done. But it appears that they do not want to help us by making us wait for forever to finally make an appointment. When we didn't hear the doorbell ring for that appointment, they are now telling us that we have to wait another month for another appointment. We want to pay them thousands of dollars to do electrical work that obviously they don't want to do or collect money for. Find somebody that will answer your calls and is eager to work for you.

We did a number of jobs with Horst, and the workers were prompt and courteous. The company communicated with us promptly and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. Would recommend working with them!

I wish I'd read the reviews prior to requesting service from Horst Electric. I'm so annoyed! I scheduled my appointment with Horst over the phone about a week before the appointment July 21. I told him the nature of my request that my Ring Doorbell Pro wasn't working and I needed help to figure out what was wrong. My husband and I had tried everything to get it to work and believed the problem was electrical. I took the morning off of work to be home for the appointment. My appointment was between 7:30&8am. Finally when nobody had shown up by 9am I phoned, and they said they thought my appointment was the following week, which I didn't buy since we had confirmed the specific date and time. They said they could get somebody to my house very shortly because I mentioned I needed to leave home no later than 10:45 which is why I'd made the original appointment for early morning. I was promised somebody would be there well before the time I needed to leave. Still by 10am nobody had shown up. Then a few minutes later somebody showed up who had no idea why he was at my house. This was the most unprepared serviceman I've ever encountered. He didn't know or care what my request was. Because he was so late arriving I needed to leave while he was still working so I asked a friend to stay at the house while he finished, which in itself was a huge inconvenience for me. He also didn't seem to care that because he was so late and I had to explain the request to him that this then made me late to my next appointment, which is incredibly rude and disrespectful of my time as well as others'. I was leery of leaving the house with him still working since I didn't want him to leave prior to the job being finished. When I returned home he had already left, and my doorbell still didn't work. He replaced the transformer, but that didn't appear to be the issue. I couldn't tell him this though because he had already left. It was as if nothing had been done! The setup of the Ring is quite basic so that wasn't the problem. Now I'm left with a doorbell that still doesn't work and a random non-itemized bill for $145. I do NOT recommend this company!

Horst Electric is a reliable company well worthy of recommendation. Willie and Francisco have done excellent electrical work at our rental properties and primary residence. Among other things, WIllie did a great job installing electrical panels. He was courteous, efficient, honest and very experienced. Francisco did some exterior and interior lighting and installed a couple of light switches and outlets. He did a fantastic job as well and is also very good at his job. They were both very patient and answered all of our questions, their prices were more than fair, and they worked quickly but efficiently.
