Do not hire.....does not finish work ..impossible to get a straight answer..... lies about completing job.

Everything looked great. Except these electricians didn't know the proper AC/Heating installation needed to be level not on a slant as our roof is. It clearly states in the air conditioning manual these need to be level so it leaked water from the evaporator pan onto our floor in several areas. They also didn't know how to connect the hoses properly leaking all the Coolant out (cost for this alone $1000). However the biggest business ""sin"" was they do not answer their phones. DO NOT HIRE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This very expensive air/heating unit is still not working from their installation in April 2021. They said they guarantee their work! They also did not take out permits and are not Licensed Air/Heating contractors we found out too late.

We signed a contract with Home Tech Electric in February of 2021 for complete rewiring of our small 1950's home, and another contract with them for replacement of our heating and A/C systems. We were told that the cost of permits and inspections was included in the price.
On May 7th we were told that the work was complete minus a few details such as replacing switch plates and removing the old A/C system. They wanted to finish these items after the inspections which they would schedule by the end of May.
After collecting the bulk of their money, Home Tech then dropped off the face of the earth and did not return any of our calls, texts, or emails. Seeing on Yelp that other Home Tech customers had a similar experience and one customer found that no permit was pulled for work done in his house, we called the City of Pleasant Hill and were told that Home Tech had never gotten permits for the extensive work they did on our house and had never tried to schedule inspections.
By then, the first summer heat wave had hit, and we discovered that the A/C system was not working; just moving the air around like a fan.
We will unfortunately have to pursue other channels to get this work completed with permits and inspections. Such a disappointment. Their website says they are dedicated to leaving every customer satisfied. How is that possible when you don't finish the job and stop responding to the customer's calls?

Left with an illegal generator I can't use; avoid these guys!
After several months, I have a generator, but no permit, and no gas upgrade to use the thing. Now they won't even respond to my phone calls.

Well this review is a tail of two experiences. First off we had them come out and provide us with a quote, Steve was great and didn't try to say we needed more than we did for a rewire of our house. The electrical, Joe was awesome and worked alone, man he worked hard and long hours, he was very professional. Sounds good so far right? Okay so as part of our contract they would pull the permits for the home inspection. The job was completed just before thanksgiving. Well today is January 13th, and we have still not had an inspection. We have no little to no contact with Hometech. They collected the bulk of Their money as indicated in the agreement. I have called 3 times a week and have texted the owner several times. I have received one phone call back saying their were working on the permit, just after thanksgiving but nothing since. This is turning into an epic failure. I still have holes in my walls, no permit, no inspection. They still have a very little amount of money to collect, I'm about at the end of my patience, and will soon been seeking legal action for the breach of contract. What a shame, with all the good work put in by the electrican to be ruined by the management.

I really tried hard before I put this review in. I recently installed a backup generator and was impressed by how prompt Nicole was in responding to my request and following up on appointments. The installation happened and was done professionally. However, I paid to have them pull a permit and get my system inspected. I found out after several weeks that they never filed for a permit. I have talked to Dave J. at least 5 times and he would promise to follow up and nothing has happened. It's really a shame that I have to do this. Customer Service goes beyond just selling the product and installing it.

Did this company close it's doors?
I had a salesman come out to give me a proposal on either a generator or battery backup for power outages. He was a pretty nice guy, and I didn't mind paying the $39 for the proposal. That was over a week ago. He is not answering texts, and just now when I called the company... no answer and their 'voicemail box is full'.
I hope this is not a terrible sign... and that employees and owners have not caught the plague. I am also hopeful that they are not out of business.
That said, to just drop off the face of the earth is a little odd. Maybe they could update their outgoing message and let people know the status?

HomeTech Electric installed a 22kw Generac generator, a new circuit breaker box, and LED garage lighting at my home in Danville and did an outstanding job! David (owner) and his team did a very high quality job. They were extremely professional, neat & clean, diligent, timely, and provided very fair pricing. The job wasn't straightforward as it involved cutting through 10' of concrete for the electric and gas lines. The end result not only works but looks amazing! They were really friendly to my entire family and took great care in doing a high quality and professional job. I highly recommend HomeTech! They are now my 'go to' electricians!

We called Home Tech for a generator to provide power during the PSPS with PGnE. David was very helpful with our questions. While all of the power issues were going on David and company were extremely helpful to allow my husbands medical power needs to be met. He was very generous and caring. All of the employees we worked with were great also.
We feel very confident when the power goes off that our Generac will keep us going!

Called home tech because my spa wasnt working i needed a new panel , i had already known this but didnt mention it to steve. He was honest and didnt waste my time. Steve was able to get my spa working and some other issues i was having around the house. I was so happy with his service in replacing my panel,i had him come back out to replace all the ceiling fans in my home along with adding a outlet behind my tv to hide the tv wires. A+ customer service, i wish i got amazing service like this from every company.
