HMT Electric
Company Overview
We focus on commercial electrical installations in high-rise construction projects, commercial tenant improvements and commercial solar installations.
With many years overseeing high-rise projects for different electrical companies, the esteemed Nat Bosa entrusted our owner, Brian Hudak the first project for the 36-story Bayside project. We then transitioned from my garage, to a 40 ft. construction trailer onsite, to a 4000 sq. ft. office, and now we have a company-owned facility of 14,000 sq. ft. for our office and warehouse.
In 2011, HMT Electric expanded by adding two new divisions: HMT Electric Solar along with HMT North Inc..

To the guy driving the f150, you are a reckless driver. You cut me off and almost cause an accident with my kids in the car. I caught you at a red light and didn't bother apologizing nor engaged in one. Don't support business that is reckless.

I'm a BMS contractor and I cant begin to tell you how cooperative and informative they've been with us. I would gladly continue to do work with them. Great Job HMT Team!

Amazing company that has come to my aid as a contractor many times. Can's say enough about their low voltage team. They put out consistently great work without errors and communicate throughout their time on the job sites.

This place is an absolute joke!!! I am so glad I quit this god awful company. They on several occasions forgot to pay me and it took several weeks each time and a lot of my time to get this issue resolved, then the person in charge of payroll gave me attitude for HER mistakes she made over and over again. This company also broke the law and made me work overtime on several occasions multiple days in a row and did not pay me my 1.5x rate. I also had paid sick days which I used when I became ill when I got my check I saw my sick day was used but I was not compensated. Both in the warehouse and on the job site I was exposed very often to hazardous unsafe conditions. On the pinnacle Jobsite they made me work multiple times very close to the edge without providing me with a harness, they also did not provide me with gloves or eye protections many times and they cut corners and half-assed a lot of their work. They also did not have adequate training for new hires making it dangerous for everyone, in the warehouse, they would not let me wear any repository equipment when drilling concrete or using a hazardous spray like galvanized pipe spray and when I did they FORCED me to take it off, extremely unsafe driving speed and use of the forklift by several employees(one of which was warned and almost fired but he still drives the in the same unsafe manner!)that could easily cause an accident and get someone killed they also did not have spotters or two spotters on several occasions when putting inventory up on second and third level racks... I could go on and on about the unprofessional, unsafe, and workplace right violations about hmt ...

I do not like to cause harm to small businesses, but after my cumulative experience with HMT, I feel I have no choice but to warn the public of my dispute with HMT, via this review. The short version is that I have experienced serious issues with their work, which has caused extensive damage to my home's electricity.
I was referred to HMT by Tesla, as HMT was purported to be experts on installing the Nema 14-50 chargers used to charge electric vehicles. I initially had issues with HMT being late for our scheduled appointment, but since the work was eventually completed on schedule, I was willing to let that slide.
Less than 10 months later, the breaker which HMT installed failed, leading to a full loss of power to my home, as well as extensive damages, which required me to replace the entire electrical panel. The electrician who inspected and replaced the panel opined that the cause of the failure was an improper installation by HMT.
As per HMT's own policies, they offer a 1 year warranty on parts and labor, but after several communications, HMT refused to honor this warranty. Their rationale was that they would have been glad to replace/repair the work themselves, but they would not reimburse me for another electrician's work. I fail to see the logic in that argument, for two reasons:
Firstly, by way of background, the failure of this breaker caused all power to my house to go out, and created a small explosion within the electric panel. This is obviously a very dangerous situation. Because I was concerned for the safety of my family, I had to chose another electrician who lived nearby and could perform emergency service. Secondly, I was in no way interested in having additional work performed by the same firm who caused the initial damage.
Bottom line- if Tesla refers you to HMT, you'd be much better off calling someone else. I've since come to learn that the installation of these charges is very standard, and any qualified electrician can perform the work, likely much better than HMT. Finally, if you prefer to support firms who will stand behind their work, you could do much better than HMT.

Outstanding contractor, very focused on customer service and very professional craftsmanship, pride in doing a great job for their customer.

Never personally dealt with the company but the behavior of one of the employees road behaviors demanded the attention.
While waiting to turn right for a light in the Temecula area and checking for traffic; truck #119 just couldn't keep his shorts on. I heard you honk once, and was going to turn so you could race to your fire, but on the second honk 2 seconds later. I figured you needed to wait until you calmed yourself a bit before engaging others on the road with your bad attitude.
Your company must be so proud of hiring people with great attitudes and the displaying of your middle finger in a company truck shows me not so much of your discontent for the moment but that your lack of respect for others in general along with your company's vehicle at risk.
Personally I don't care if you worked all day, hated traffic, and was on your way to argue with the wife. You sir are representing that company and your behavior as an adult overall was pretty sad and selfish if not deplorable.
And worse.. you reside in the same gated community, so there goes the neighborhood.
Sorry pal, fetching the wife's cancer medication was far more important than your need to lose sharing those precious 6 seconds of your life waiting at a light with the rest of us...
