We called Bob with a strange electrical issue we were having, and he gave us some things to try over the phone, free of charge. When that didn't work, we asked Bob to come out and take a closer look at the problem. He did a thorough inspection and found that it was a PG&E issue, which PG&E later solved for us. Throughout the entire experience, Bob was upfront and honest about his pricing and diagnosis of the problem.

In our garage, we used a heater at the same time while the Tesla was charging and the garage outlet circuit tripped. GFCI reset on the garage outlet didn't click. But the circuit breaker for the garage GFCI is not on our inside electrical panel. Bob the electrician from Hillsborough Electric was going to come out today, but he called me a couple times first to make sure I tried everything. Bob asked if there was a electrical panel outside the house. Sure enough there was one, with Garage GFCI labeled. Flipped that switch, then reset the GFCI button on the outlet, electricity came back on in garage. Saved me some money! I think Bob knows his stuff and he is also an honest & very helpful man. This is the second time I've contacted him, cannot recommend highly enough!

I contacted Bob for the second time in a couple of months for unrelated panel issues. He was remarkably prompt in getting back to me, was able to determine the cause of my issue, and quickly talked me through the fix over the phone. Hi, I didn't end up hiring Hillsborough Electric because he was booked solid for 3 weeks. I sent him an email and he responded within a couple of hours and EVEN called me to let me know of his backlog. He recommended that I search for someone else. I appreciate his attention to getting back to me, being honest and just be pleasant on email and on the phone (I returned his call). I'll probably call him first the next time I have an electrical need. Thanks!

I had a problem where the kitchen electricity was off, but the breaker appeared to be on. Bob talked me through it over the phone and didn't charge a thing. Great guy!

I had a DIY project gone wrong and needed a pro. I found Hillsborough Electric in Yelp because they were close to me and because of the five star status and the many positive comments. I called and got voice mail. I was in a hurry so I decided to try another company; I did not leave a voice mail with Hillsborough Electric . I got voice mail at the second company and decided to leave them a voice mail.

In the meantime, based only on the caller ID Bob called back before the other company responded. Great! I needed help so I proceeded to describe my problem. As Bob listened he suggested that I could save money if I did the fix myself. He started to describe how to do that but I interrupted - I was already in hot water because my DIY skills weren't up to the task. I told him I wanted it done by a pro. And that's what I got - a pro. It wasn't the biggest job in the world, but he came at the appointed time, got the job done, and was a pleasure to work with. If I need electrical work in the future, I won't need Yelp to guide me. I know who I will call.

We had a problem getting our new Italian stove installed and needed an electrician so we could finally use it. I found Bob on yelp, answered a few questions and he called within 5 minutes. We described our problem, took a picture of the stove and our fuse box for him and he kindly came out that afternoon and did the work for us so we could actually cook--yay! We can't thank him enough for his quick response, timeliness, and excellent service. He swept up every little bit of wire, etc . and went beyond the call of duty. We will definitely be using him again. Just excellent!
