Beware! Total Rip off. Please be very careful when using his service he is not honest when he said what the problems were and not honest in what he said he fixed. I called him out and he got caught, and unless you know ANYTHING about HVAC in my experience he will scam you and is a total con man.

We called him because although my partner installed our nest thermostat correctly the furnace wasn't turning on. My partner is a pretty good handyman and was pretty sure it was a fuse so we thought we could call a technician for an analysis.

We called Adel and he said he could take a look at it and would cost something like $75 dollars for the consultation.

Upon arriving he looked at the furnace and told us it was a transformer issue that needed to be fixed and that it would cost $250. That seemed a bit much for us so after some discussing he agreed to $200. Also it was a few days before Christmas and we didn't want to be without heat so I thought oh how nice of him!

It's takes him like 5 mins and he said it's done. He turns on the nest thermostat which now works with the furnace. I also ask him if he can you show me exactly what he did as I liked to be informed. He shows me the transformer on the furnace but I notice the transformer doesn't look like it's new or changed or anything. This furnace is very old so you would notice anything new. While he was explaining I even took out my cell phone with the light to see exactly the part he was pointing too. So I think ok I guess so???

Anyways because I don't trust anyone, I let him know that I would like to see the old part he fixed. It was right after he fixed it and he saids ""oh you should have told me because I left it in the truck.""
Well that doesn't make any sense as he just fixed it so he should have it? Right?

Anyways he makes it out to the truck and I hear him looking for something which seemed like it took longer than the fixing. He comes in with a box and goes back to the furnace which is now he's taking a little bit longer than before and my partner walks by and actually sees him installing a brand new part. He puts the furnace cover on and he saids everything is done and gives me the old transformer part with the new box. At this point we knew he had ripped us off.

After I pay him and he leaves we go back to open the furnace to confirm the new transformer.

Obviously it was never the transformer, he showed us the working furnace before he installed the new part which he said we needed. It was probably just a fuse but unfortunately we weren't experienced enough to fix it ourselves.

But shame on you for taking advantage of people just because you can.

UPDATED RESPONSE TO YOUR ANSWER:

How can you install a used transformer when you never installed any transformer in the first place? Because it was my original transformer that was there when you said everything was done and working after you turned on the Nest. You never uninstalled or reinstalled the Nest, you never said it was installed incorrectly, obviously it was installed correctly but yes the furnace wasn't working and after a lot of research felt it had to do with the fuse with the furnace but my partner just didn't feel comfortable dealing with the fuse. So we hoped to get a trustworthy consultation to make sure.

However you probably knew it was just a fuse but told us it was the transformer so you could charge us more.

But it's not even about the money.
If you wanted to charge us more then that's your choice, there is nothing wrong with being upfront with your worth and we can accept that even if it was for just a fuse.

But it's the principal of you lying and taking advantage because you knew you had an opportunity to sneak one by us.

I asked you if you were done after everything was on and working so I can pay you before you leave. It doesn't even make any sense that you would say you told me you were done while getting ready to leave and I'm about to pay and then once I ask you for the part you go to your truck to get a part to re open our furnace and install it again?! That looks really questionable.

Everyone makes mistakes we just happened to be the unlucky ones I guess. Anyways I wish you the best.

Great fast and reliable service! I called High Tech this past weekend. The A/C went down when it was 90 degrees outside. We couldn't go anywhere to cool down because of the quarantine in place at the moment. I called several other repair shops. One other place wanted to charge me $375 for coming out, plus whatever the cost of labor and repairs. Nobody else was available on the same day. The guys at High Tech called me back immediately and told me they would be out late in the afternoon. I wasn't feeling too optimistic given the experience I had with the other places I called. Sure enough High Tech sent me a text that they were on their way. I was happy to see that they were wearing PPE, and keeping their distance. They immediately started working on the unit and discovered that a rat chewed threw the wire that powered the air compressor! They removed the rat carcass, replaced the wire and refilled the compressor within the hour. I couldn't be happier with the level of service. Thank you!
