Absolutely stellar service and extremely knowledgeable. They fixed a major electrical issue for me OVER THE PHONE in literally FIVE MINUTES. I will always go back to them!!

We love our propane generator and are blessed to have it when each winter our electricity goes out for days. Recently I noticed a warning light had come on and called High Sierra immediately. Although they had a full schedule for the day I am grateful they made an emergency visit to check on our generator which ended up needing a bit of attention. I am grateful for the immediate response and necesary repair made to insure our generator continues to run well.
High Sierra is knowledgeable, conscientious, responsive and professional. I am grateful!!

This is my 3rd year in a row using High Sierra Electric to service my whole house generator.
Edison, the owner, is thorough and explains all my questions very clearly. I wrote 4 stars because it took a few weeks to get a returned phone call for an appointment, but to be fair, it was not an emergency, just an annual tuneup .
I have referred 2 other friends to this company and they both were satisfied with their service too!

Edison had installed my generac generator in the summer of 2018, this piece of equipment has performed fantastically! Because of the recent snow storm we had many many trees down on banner mountain and I was out of town while the power was out for 4 days, I didn't know my generator should only run for a few hours at a time not for days! I guess I didn't read the manual carefully enough. So today he came out to service the machine and kindly explained to me what to do when the power goes out the next time! He is very knowledgeable, honest, courteous and with a nice sense of humor!

I don't know how these guys stay in business! We have been waiting since MID-OCTOBER (5-1/2 months ago) for them to schedule a repair of our generator. They do not respond to emails or phone calls, including for emergency assistance.

I'm simply updating my review to remove the 4 star rating I gave 5 weeks ago. Edison is a friend of a friend and I don't want to risk having any issues with ""my"" friend. Thus, I'll just post the 1 star and let it be.

We had them install our whole house Generac several years ago. I thought they were very expensive at the time but my husband had no
problem. We needed them to restart ours during this recent power outage. I called that evening and the next morning. My husband called the next day and emailed that day also. Now 8 days later still no call. On their message he said they were catering to seniors and ill customers and I mentioned that we are seniors but not ill but we have a lot of animals to take care of. I think it is totally inexcusable not to take the time to return a phone call if even only to say we are swamped and give a referral. You guys should be ashamed not to return a phone call to a senior couple dealing with these power outages. Just today I got my first chance to say no don't call high Sierra. It gave my a lot of satisfaction. There are other businesses to call. DON'T CALL THEM!!!

I have a few houses in Grass Valley and have used three local electricians for various things over a few years. High Sierra Electric and Generators were the most professional
The crew always worked fast and their vans were always stocked to handle all the issues that I had. Ed almost always answers his phone and during the busiest time due to the power outages they still got out to my house to service the generator that they installed 5 years ago. Thank you so much for making the time for the small job when you were so busy.

Complete D-bags! I called a few times and got an answering machine, called back the next day and finally got a live person. I asked a general question about a transfer switch because I'm looking at getting a standby generator. Guy tells me ""I can't tell you without looking at your system"" which is complete bs if he'd listened to the question. Then he tells me ""I saw you called a few times without leaving a message"" I told him ""yeah I'm not into leaving messages."" He tells me ""well we're not into answering questions over the phone.""
This kind of d-bag attitude is a direct reflection of the nature of a business during times of feast vs famine. With PG&E shutting down our power in the North State everyone is clamoring for a generator, it's times like this that a business's true colors stand out. Clearly, when High Sierra feels they do not need to provide good customer service they will probably tell you to go f yourself.
Looking back I was way better off talking to their answering machine than the tool that answered the phone.

Edison is great! He has taken the time to walk us through our generator options and installation process. Always returned calls and emails. I dont believe half of the reviews on here.
