We hired Ivan to replace our old Zinsco electrical panel after learning in the home inspection that these panels could lead to fire or electrical problems. We got several quotes and Ivan's stood out for being a fair price and for advising us about a potential issue with the inspection that another electrician did not mention.

Ivan was a great communicator and was willing to work with us to find a date for the replacement that was reduced the inconvenience of being without power while we're both working from home. I also really liked how he had a great relationship with the SMUD employees, which I view as an excellent sign of professionalism. We're so glad we replaced the panel before any problems arose because we found out from the replacement that the lines were already corroding, something SMUD replaced that day. Ivan even took the time to try installing a smart energy monitor I bought, without extra cost, and let me know why it couldn't work with our panel. Finally, he took the time to do thorough labeling of the panel and its applicable spot in the house. We couldn't be more pleased with his work.

From start to finish we had an excellent experience with Ivan. I called for a quote and to discuss the various projects we were thinking of undertaking in our new home he patiently explained our different options and was happy to provide rough cost estimates (which ended up being spot on and very fair). He ended up installing 6 recessed LED lights in our living room, re-wiring 20 outdated 2-prong outlets and adding 8 GFCI outlets in our garage. All of it looks great and is working perfectly.

As a new home owner entering a 70+ year old home I had a lot of questions and I really appreciated that Ivan gave solid advice with my best interest in mind. Rather than selling us on every project he told us it'd be better to save some projects for the future (e.g. don't re-wire the garage now, we may want to add an electric vehicle charging station down the line).

Ivan is about the best you can hope for when it comes to hiring somebody off Yelp. I hired him to install a 14-50 electrical outlet so I could later mount a stage 2 charging station for my Volt. I can't speak to the electrical work, because I'm not qualified, but otherwise, Ivan communicated promptly over Yelp's messaging, gave a reasonable no-b.s. price right from the get-go, came on time, got straight to work, installed the electric charging station without an additional charge, and worked within the time frame estimate he gave. Really, you can't hope for much better than that.

Ivan is the absolute best! We hired him to replace the panel and rewire our entire fab 40 home we had bought in March. He was 100% professional and helpful everyday he worked in our home. We weren't going to be living in the house until around August so we left a lockbox and a key for him. He armed and disarmed our alarm and did his job with no issues every day he worked. He always kept us up to date on where he was with the job and not once did I feel like there was a lack of communication like I did with some of the other contractors we had worked with in the house. At this point we consider Ivan a friend and he is stuck being our family electrician for life whether he likes it or not.

The BEST! Ivan arrived on time in a pristine van. To me, always an indicator of the type of work that will be done. He didn't disappoint. Originally, the quote was to run conduit to supply power to the four additional outlets in the garage. He then, at no additional charge, went into the overhead crawl space and dropped the wiring behind the walls. It had to have taken him an additional two hours. Oh, did I mention, NO EXTRA CHARGE! The lights he included in the quote for overhead lighting were not some cheap Walmart junk. The whole job was done with the professional expectation I had when I first saw his truck. When he was done he left the area cleaner than it was. I instantly asked him to return for additional projects. I would not hesitate to recommend him, and did to my neighbor, who was looking for an electrician.
