The two best words to describe the service given by Mark of H&H Lighting & Electrical would be fast and efficient. That's not to say he isn't cordial and friendly. He definitely is. He arrived promptly, greeted warmly and proceeded to work with speed and proficiency. He asked what the problem is and went to town. He gave alternative solutions to issues with prices and ways to save on future work. I'm glad he took the time to deal with the small job I had for him when he could probably make a lot more money on a bigger one.

Contacted H&H with an emergency visit, had a new dryer delivered to replace the old one I thought was not working, turns out it was the 30 amp connection that was loose. Mark showed up within 20 minutes and had it fixed within 10 minutes. Its nice finding an honest electrician!!! I highly recommend H&H for any electrical problem!!!

We had just purchased our condo and went through, deciding which fixtures stayed and which had to go. Well, unfortunately that meant that most of them had to go - I think these were the original fixtures from the seventies haha. Anyway, we got a reasonable estimate and they had someone out to our place pretty fast. They replaced every fixture and repaired some old ceiling lights as well. Everything looks so modern and we don't have to worry about something catching fire! Professional work all the way!

These guys literally saved my business! These guys were working on replacing my circuit breaker on a Saturday when a fuse caught on fire (completely unrelated to the work they were doing) due to the extreme heat we've been having. These guys were quick on their feet and put out the fire, saving my whole warehouse! These guys were professional, prompt, and got the job done (and then some!). I highly recommend them and will be using their services for all my future electrical needs.

I called up Mark on a Friday evening and he offered to come over first thing the next morning. I had a circuit in my condo that wasn't receiving any power. It turns out that whoever did the original electrical in our place did some funny stuff in mixing and splitting rooms among different circuits. He ended up finding a tripped GFI that shouldn't have been part of the circuit. For such a simple solution, he cut me a deep discount on his visit. Professional top notch guy! Highly recommended!

I was referred to H&H lighting by a neighbor. Good old word of mouth reference. I had been telling my neighbor that I had some electrical issues at the house that I'd been putting off getting fixed, but had just recently had a couple of local companies come out and give me an estimate. Admittedly, I'm not an electrician. But I guess I have a sense of what the services should cost. And I was telling my neighbor that the few companies that I'd had out to the house,...they were quoting above, well above, what I was expecting. My neighbor told me about his experience with Mark and H&H Lighting and encouraged me to call. I did and am I ever glad that I did!
Mark, the principal of H&H, came to the house and as I was told to expect, he was very obviously easy going, very knowledgable, and just had the type of personality and demeanor that put me very much at ease. He took a quick look at my list of issues and provided me with a quick quote. Not only was it the lowest amount that I'd been quoted so far, it was slightly below what I was expecting. And he was able to complete the work that day! So, what had been a thorn in my side and on my mind for way too long,...Mark took care of it very expeditiously and for a very fair amount.
Well. That's how I met Mark. And that was actually several months ago. Then about a month ago, I put aside a little money and really wanted to add some landscape lighting to my front and backyard. You know who I called. Mark, of course. But for my own ""due diligence"", I called a couple of other companies that specialize in landscape lighting too. Not surprisingly, H&H Lighting's quote was the most attractive (aka ""least painful""). I awarded H&H Lighting the job and what they did was nothing short of spectacular. It makes such a huge difference and now my friends and I often opt to hang out in the yard in the evening because it's such a great vibe.
Probably the best thing that I can say about Mark and his company of H&H Lighting is that prior to my experience with him, I'd only heard of such positive experiences, and/or seen them in the movies. I was pretty sure that positive experiences like this were an urban legend. Nope. It exists. If you have electrical repair needs, and/or a new electrical or lighting project on your list of things to get done,....you must call Mark at H&H Lighting.

This review is way overdue. We hired H&H Lighting in April 2016 to do multiple projects in our home requiring electrical elements in the interior & exterior. Mark H. is the ultimate professional! Mark added pendant lights above our kitchen island that came out so beautifully, our island has become the focal point in our kitchen. Mark is very skilled, experienced, easy going and honest. We really lucked out when we found Mark to do our multiple projects. We did our research and spoke to several electricians and ultimately decided to hire Mark. Mark stands by his work and his customer service skills are exceptional. Mark replaced all the ceiling fans in all our bedrooms, added/replaced exhaust fans in bathrooms & laundry room, replaced light fixtures in bathrooms, added the pendant lights in kitchen, several chandeliers, exterior lighting in front & back yard. Everything turned out as we expected. If any issues came up, there was never any doubt in our mind about Mark's ability and willingness to take care of problems to our satisfaction. Hiring a competent, skilled and honest contractor is not an easy task, we searched for a while before we hired Mark. We highly recommend H&H Lighting for all your electrical projects. You will not be disappointed. We plan on hiring H&H Lighting again soon to complete another project in our home. THANK YOU H&H LIGHTING, YOU ROCK!!!

One of the challenges of relocation is finding vendors as good as the ones we left behind in our old home town. (See Maine Electric of Livermore.) We absolutely lucked out when we contacted H&H. Mark came to our 30-year-old house weeks after we'd bought it and went over the entire electrical system, fixing things that were either in disrepair or had been badly done in the past. Some of these problems were actually dangerous. He also installed smoke/CO alarms, which the house did not have.

Now that Mark has fixed what was either in disrepair or downright shoddy, we're looking forward to having him come back and install new ceiling fans, ceiling lights, larger outlets, and whatever custom lighting we decide on.

When hiring a contractor I look for the following things: customer service skills. Are they courteous, friendly, communicate well, and do they show up when they say will. Do they have deep experience in their area. Do they give value and a reasonable bid and timeline for work completed. And importantly, do they stand by their work, and are you able to solve a problem with them. Problems and unexpected things are bound to happen, but can you work together for a reasonable outcome? What is their guarantee when all work is completed and payment has been made. Mark has all of these qualities and more. Having been a home owner of an older home, I can recognize the contractors that can work on complex things, especially electrical things. Mark installed beautiful exterior lighting in my home and also fully replaced the electrical panel that was about 30 years too old. The house looks spectacular at night and also adds security. Mark knew exactly what to do. He re-stuccoed the outside of the house where the new electrical box went and labeled all the circuit breakers with me. Consider Mark when looking for an electrician and you will be glad you did.

Mark is really a great electrician for all the reasons that are important to me. When I called him for an estimate on recess lighting, he was there within 24 hours. I hired him that night, and he was there and had installed 8 recess lights the next day. He's a nice guy and is really knowledgeable about what he does. Finally, he gave me the best price of all the estimates I received. He's reliable, efficient and does a clean job for a great price. I'm planning on going with H&H electric for all my jobs from now on.
