I'm actually writing this review second hand, but was so impressed with the work he did at our house that I had to make sure he got positive plug on Yelp.

We've had an electrical problem with one light on a certain circuit since we moved in to our condo. Hit the light switch in the living room, power goes off in the kitchen and you had to reset the fuse. I accidentally hit this switch when turning on another light and all power in our kitchen went out. The whole circuit was gone and we couldn't reset the switch :(

My husband found this guy on Yelp, gave him a call (on a Thursday) and the electrician said he couldn't fit us in until Monday. When he realized we'd have no power in our kitchen over the weekend, he dropped what he was doing, came around within an hour, sourced the problem and replaced the electrical doo-dahs right away (I'm not technically minded).

My husband is a semiconductor engineer so he can be a real critic of anyone technical, but he was really impressed with this guy and said he did a really great job - he said the electrician new his stuff and was able to debug the problem straight away. Hooray for me! I have lights and power in my kitchen again.

Also, for a house call that happened same day, this was very very reasonably priced. When my husband said he got an electrician in straight away I actually cringed when I asked ""How much did that cost?"" but he was really inexpensive (as house call electricians go) and just did a really really good job.

You need an electrician, this is definitely your guy. Two thumbs up!

Meiggs Hewlett was great to work with. He was professional, timely, and fairly priced. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical work. He upgraded the panel in our new house to a 200 Amp. Would definitely use him again.

GREAT service . . quality work and VERY reasonable! We just went through a remodel in our bathroom/bedroom and a few things went wrong so I called Hewlett after reading all of the Yelp reviews. Brian came out to our house and fixed what should have been done the first time. We have gone through Hewlett several times now and had nothing but great service, not to mention Brian is a pleasure to work with!!!! Look no more if you're looking for a GREAT electrician!!!!

Meigs was very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave a very professional consultation and quoted me a fair price. He was back out the next morning and had the work done in no time. I would definitely recommend him and use him again!

Very punctual, spent a good amount of time troubleshooting the electrical problems in my restaurant. Even though he was unable to pinpoint our problem he gave me several low cost solutions and did a very good job keeping me involved in the troubleshooting process. Will not hesitate to call them for future problems.

Meigs is awesome. All my outlets upstairs were out and because I just became a homeowner, I naturally freaked out and assumed the wiring was shot. Meigs came over and explained to me that the previous owner had given me an incorrect GFCI outlet floorplan. His minimum charge for trouble shooting is usually $150, but he waived it and gave me his card. ""Just call me up next time something really breaks down."" It's nice to get a break once in awhile from all the shady repairmen out there.

Wow. Honest, honest, honest. I called a few weeks ago on a Sunday in the late afternoon. ( I had found this company on Yelp.) My call was answered right away and very professionally by Meigs. He asked me about my situation and I explained what I could. He asked if I had tried the basics, which I had. Meigs suggested that I call PG&E as it sounded like a problem that they would take care of...for free. He said that to be sure to call him back with any questions and that he could come out in a couple of days if needed. I called PG&E and it was a PG&E problem. Meigs could have certainly come out to my home, looked around, not been able to fix anything and charge me a lot, but he didn't. (I had called ANOTHER electrician, explained everthing and he said he could come out for $175. I guess his company was unexperienced.)

Thank goodness for Meigs and Hewlitt Electric. This company is now on our ""family and friends' list! Again, thank you Meigs for your professionalism, assistance and honesty.

Came to my house, provided a quote to add can lights, coach lights, spot lights and an outside outlet. Provided the service, did a great job at a reasonable cost. This is exactly perfect!

I signed up into Yelp just to write this review. I have rarely been so surprised as I was on the day the Hewlett Electric guy showed up. He clearly stated the cost and the discount I would get, got my approval to go ahead and started checking the breaker box. Within 5 mins he said the fault was with PG&E and I should call them. And this is where the shocker came - he refused to charge me anything as the electrical fault could not be fixed by him. He advised me on how I should state my request to PG&E to get a prompt response and I did as he suggested. Surprise no. 2, ten mins later the PG&E truck shows up. The power gets fixed (Phase B was down). The Hewlett guys shows up at the same time to make sure things are ok. And I did not spend a buck (to my embarrassment)!
Well, the Hewlett Electric guys are on the top of our list on who to call ...

Reliable, punctual, honest, fair... the list goes on and on! I contacted Hewlett Electric via their website (late at night!) and received not only a call back the very next morning, but an email as well! They were very upfront about their availability (booked up for a couple of weeks) but were able to squeeze me in that same week! Their prices were very fair and the guys made everything crystal clear... from what needed to be done to what the final cost would be. We had about 10 outlets replaced, and troubleshooting for another 3 that weren't working. They completed all of the repairs in a very timely manner and got everything back in working order. The work they did was superb! They were very friendly and personable, and they didn't leave a mess behind when the work was done. Most importantly, the final cost ended up being LESS than the already-reasonable price they quoted... I love when that happens!

Genuinely nice guys doing electrical work the way it should be done. I highly recommend Hewlett Electric to anyone needing electrical work.
