We just used Hein Electric for some projects in our new house. We had 5 ceiling fans changed out, 2 sets of wall sconces replaced, a dining room light and foyer light replaced and a bathroom light replaced....key word, replaced....all of the electrical wiring was in already. Rick came out to look at the job and acted like there was nothing out of their scope, so we set a date. We chose the ""by the hour"" pricing, since we figured 2 guys would bang this out in 2 days. 5 days later....we finally had to tell the worker he needed to be done....they moved like snails all week and I even called mid week to complain about it. We asked them to add on running power to a new location for a TV we installed over the fireplace. Instead of telling us that we would have to pay by the hour as the ""figures out"" how, they just took two days of investigating it. Long story short, we paid $4,000 for all the lighting and fans, and got a bill for $6,100 to install it all!! Shocking! I sent a complaining email, and it has been crickets!! We will pay the bill, but never again will we use or recommend this company. Side note...have since had our pool house fan replaced.....45 mins and $80 to install.....duh!!!!!

John S. from Hein quickly diagnosed the problem with my dedicated PC outlet. He fixed that issue and made me aware of some potential safely issues. He was professional, thorough and very helpful. I would definitely call Hein again for any electrical issues.

Hein Electric recently installed some much needed expansion circuits in my garage area, and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of their work. The entire process was very painless, and the work looks as if it was part of the existing shop wiring. They were prompt, courteous, efficient, and helpful from proposal to completion. I'll definitely be scheduling more work with Hein Electric in the future.

Had a problem with lights and plugs not working in upstairs bedroom. We had a rat in the attic a couple of months ago and while we got rid of the rat we thought it had chewed thru some wires and this would make the problem difficult to find and correct.

8:30 appt today. Technician showed up around 9:15. Traffic on 680. Understandable. Technician quickly determined the problem was a faulty breaker switch. Fixed in less than a hr for under $250.

Very professional! I will use this company the next time I have an electrical problem

What a rip off!! This company was not pleasant to work with. I missed an appointment with an electrician that was chosen by my landlord (Hein Lighting and Electric) because of a client emergency at work. I had to reschedule, because of the nature of my job, I had several clients who booked me so I had to cancel my second appointment which I gave 24 hours notice. I was surprised and appalled to receive a bill for over $345.00 because I missed an appointment and had to reschedule. I would never recommend this company. Unfortunately my landlord made this electrical service a requirement for repair.

I had them come out to my business to give me a quote on re lighting a 4,000 sq ft area. First off, they were really late to the fist appointment. Second, I never received a quote. I was told that I was going to receive it by the end of the week, however, nothing came. I called two weeks later and was told that it would come again, by the end of day, and again, nothing. I guess they don't want our business. I even called them specifically because I wanted t work with a local company, but I guess they had better work somewhere else.

I called two weeks ago on a Friday and the office said they would be out on the following Weds to look at the job and provide a quote. Not a problem. The service manager, Rick Mercado came out on the following Weds very close to the appointment time. He was very nice and took his time to walk around the outside of my home and understand my requirements. He also provided me a nice overview of the difference between using high intensity lighting and LED lighting. He took notes and told me the quote would be sent to me by Friday or over the weekend. More than a week later I have not received a quote. I called the office (yesterday) after one week and was told that I am not the only one waiting for a quote but she would find out the status and get back to me. I never heard back. The next day I called her back and she said they are just swamped and would try to get the quote out by this afternoon. Still no quote after a week and half.

When I spoke with the office manager she also said it is a FREE quote and implied they didn't have to rush since I wasn't paying for anything. When I said, to this point it has been worth exactly what I paid for it she said I could always find another contractor.

If they are that unreliable with the timing for a quote then what will it mean for their (estimate) time frame for starting and completing a job when they say, not to mention the cost?

Years ago, when I bought my first house with my wife and we decided to go crazy remodeling the place, Hein Lighting completely rewired the house and upgraded the service panel. When my ex-wife and I decided to get a divorce and I decided to move out and build a granny unit onto a house and rent the main part out, Hein Lighting split the service panels. After I became a general contractor, I took on a job digging a basement for an office and a ceramics studio under a house in the Oakland Hills and Hein Lighting did the wiring. When I moved my business to Sacramento and did not know any electrician in the area, Hein Lighting came all the way to Sacramento to completely rewire, upgrade the service panel, put in several (several as in 10 or 20) sub panels and helped me create a smart house.

I have used Hein Lighting & Electric many times over the last 25 years and they have always completed their work on time and I have never been shocked by their prices. I have learned how to do most of my own small wiring projects but when I get something that I feel is over my head, I still buzz Hein Lighting & Electric. Now if they would only get a decent logo that doesn't look like something out of the eighties.
(I probably should have taken a star off for the logo.)

What a rip off!! Charged me $600 for going to the shop to get the parts and took his time (4hrs) to reconnect an electrical plug. Said he came at 8am when he came at 8:20am. I couldn't wait to get rid of the electrician from this company. I feel so cheated for such a simple job.
