I love this company, very professional and they always send skilled handyman. I've used them twice now and both times they did excellent work. This time I had Miguel here -- he was super friendly, did great work, was fast and efficient, and I would happily use his services again in the future for other tasks. He installed two floating shelves, removed some window shades, helped with wire management, moved a couple paintings on the walls, and a few other tasks. He was really clean as he worked and was professional and friendly the whole time. Highly recommend!

Referral: Our handyman (Mike at ReasonableMike's) referred us to HH for our renovation: conversion of large shower to bath/shower, relocating gas and water for W/D, and converting an oversize one bedroom to two bedrooms. From the first email received by Dispatcher Hero, Megan, it was clear that HH placed strong emphasis on responsiveness and attentiveness to customer service. Additionally, the creative and skilled problem-solving executed by the HH crew were appreciated; those were effective skills to fuse the old with the new in our construction project. All this at a fair price.

Shout Outs to Heroes:
Larry the Leader's thirty plus years of contractor experience fused with a customer service orientation fueled his keen ability to hear and synthesize my convoluted ideas and articulate them in a common-sense, straightforward concept. After an initial estimate visit, Larry returned to the flat to remeasure certain items as I had changed my mind about a couple of items. With patience and graciousness, he spent half an hour on the phone talking through those changes, clarifying my ideas, and offering suggestions. Further, he made the permit process seamless.

The Project: Daily, promptly at 7:15 am, HH's Roberto, Guillermo, jr., and Sergio arrived, ready to start at 7:30 am. Sergio the Facilitator ensured the project stayed on track: coordinating the crew, including an outside refinishing floor contractor and a fabricator for countertops; maintaining an ""open door cellphone policy;"" supplying materials in timely manner; and providing enhancement suggestions to ""finish off"" the project, Roberto, the ""Handyman Whisperer"", seamlessly moved from tiling bathroom floor and shower ,hanging doors, rerouting gas and plumbing, and hanging mirrors. Whenever I asked him something, he replied: ""Whatever you want...no problem."" Guillermo, Jr., as Righthand Hero, provided efficient and conscientious efforts in wall work and electrical rewiring. In final stages of the project, Guillermo, Sr., the 'sage Hero,' arrived to assist Roberto with 'finishing and polishing part."" During last week , everyone came, including Jesus, to finish the job within the deadline.

As other reviews have mentioned, Handyman Heroes is a bit of a misnomer in that the crew will take on larger, more involved projects like mine (5 weeks) in addition to smaller projects. This is not my first rodeo in home projects but certainly my most positive. I have already referred them to my neighbor. And, when I am ready for the next project, without a doubt, I would reach out to HH again.

We had difficulty getting them to respond to phone calls. Once we got over that hump, we had a crew (Anthony and Joel) take care of some issues around the house. Some were simple tasks, like cleaning and replacing the furnace filters, and some more involved issues: dry-rot removal, wood replacement and painting. Overall it was a 4-day project.

They showed up promptly with the tools and materials required for the work and cleaned up after themselves every day.

The work was carried out thoughtfully, and with a high level of craftsmanship. They were quicker than estimated. Good and fast, what more could you want?

Requested Handyman Heroes to come out to our condo and take a look at our door jamb, floor boards, and window. I knew when I called them that they charge to provide estimates but that it would go towards the work cost. I had no problem with that as I planned to hire them regardless.

Two men arrived to take a look. They were friendly and really seemed to want to help. There wasn't an issue as they took a look at each item and discussed how much work would be involved. However they said they wouldn't be able to fix the window which was a bit annoying since I thoroughly explained it in my request, but understandable.

As they were leaving I had to pay them the estimate fee and they said they'd send me the estimates by email and that they could start work as soon as I sign off on it. The issue was when the email arrived and the estimates were way higher than expected. Their estimates also included a high markup on materials. There was no way I could hire them. So even though the visit went well it felt like I was being taken advantage of afterwards.

My brother and I ended up fixing our door jamb and floor boards with our father's help, spending a day and less than 10% of what Handyman had charged. We still lost the $75 or so for the estimate charge but chalk that up to a lesson now. That's just how some places do their business. It all worked out for us in the end.

We had not the best experience with the East Bay Crew. We had used Handyman Heroes for some work in SF and they were fabulous, the work in Berkeley was disappointing - I contacted Larry and sent him photos. He came by and decided to redo the work himself at no charge. Larry is a professional and a stand up guy who stands by his work. I appreciate it.

We had a the BEST experience with Handyman Heroes! We had a plumbing leak from our kitchen which created damage under the house. After having the plumbing repaired, the Heroes (Ron & Mike) came to repair a wall behind our dishwasher and deal with the wood damage underneath the house. Ron & Mike were on time, wearing masks, personable and did a great job on our repairs. They cleaned up, including removal of the 20 foot pipe the plumber left under our house.
We are looking forward to working with the Heroes on several remodel projects!

I normally don't enjoy the experience of a repair person due to unprofessionalism and not showing up on time. However, I got what I was promised by Handyman Heroes! The estimate performed by Larry, work scheduled by Megan and the work performed by Ron was seamless and easy. Ron showed up for the work on time and was very professional and kept the work place as tidy as possible. I have already recommended the team to my neighbor!

Handyman Heroes was recommended to me by my cousin. Larry (owner) was so responsive and came out quickly to our condo to provide an estimate. We were assigned Ron as the project manager who is just so organized and amazing. The communication and customer services is top notch!!! The workmanship is excellent, the company is very professional and they all wear T-shirts identifying their company. They were perfect for our condo remodel as they understood how to handle all the complicated condo HOA paperwork. They also understood and complied with all the complex HOA regulations and kept the condo HOA facility manager pleased. A shout out to Megan who scheduled our project promptly. And kudos to Kyle and Milan for their great work in the unit. I highly recommend them and would use them again (probably for our house in the near future).

This is the second time I have used their services. Both times I was impressed with their professionalism. This last job was the replacement of some rotted trim over my garage door. Guillermo showed up exactly on time, explained what the was going to do, and proceeded to get the job done quickly. He did a superb job. His cuts were exact, paintwork well blended and well applied. He even used coated wood screws to make sure there would be no rust bleeding through the paint in the future.
I'm a retired tradesman myself, and I know quality work when I see it. Obviously, so does Guillermo.

TL;DR- Handyman Heroes Kyle and Mike redid our bathroom in record speed with incredible attention to detail and excellent communication!

The longer story- We moved into a new house and hoped that the one bathroom in the house could be remodeled in a two week window before we moved in. Larry came out to give us an estimate on replacing some dry rotted posts. I happened to mention that the bathroom needed an update but that I didn't think it could be done before we moved in. I showed Larry the bathroom and explained that there was only a two week window for the project. Larry took a look at the bathroom and said that Handyman Heroes could have it done in two weeks!

Megan was super helpful in explaining the process and getting everything set up.

Our Heroes (literally) Kyle and Mike were amazing. They worked super effectively on our short schedule.

Kyle was friendly and communicative during the whole process, helping us with decisions and keeping everything on schedule. Both Kyle and Mike were detail oriented and really cared about getting the job done right. They were nice people and easy to be around while they were working and I was doing some projects on the house. They kept in mind our moving date and were conscientious of our home and our parking situation.

We got to move into our house with a bathroom that is not only fully functional but has some beautiful craftsmanship! They also replaced some rotting posts, and followed up after the job was all done. I highly recommend this team and will definitely use Handyman Heroes for our future home projects.
