Recommended Customer Reviews
Handyman Dan responded when I called and was available the following day to hang a large canvas picture. He was prompt, professional, neat and did the work quickly and with precision. We really think Hanyman Dan was reasonable and did a great job. Highly recommend!
Dan did a good job with a list of task that I needed completed from re-purposing existing light switches to replacing sections of baseboards.
Dan was on time for the appointment which we made.
This is the first yelp review I've ever taken the trouble to write. Got home from vacation and several appliances weren't working. Called Dan and he had me play the sounds over the phone and told me what was wrong. He even walked me through how to fix one then and there! Excellent service, so helpful, and made my day. Will go to him in the future for small and large projects alike!
I am very sad to write this about Dan as I selected him based on yelp reviews. He spoke to me like an angel and left a very bad taste, so Buyer Beware!
Dan was requested to install weather-stripping on two doors at my tenant's house. Instead of completing my order, he created a lot of work, just texting pictures with quotes. That included breakages, the tenant is responsible, including replacing bulbs, batteries and filters. I told him the tenant is responsible for any breakages other than the repairs I am approving. He picked up the materials from Home Depot. His compensation $30, Fuel & Tolls $30. The weather stripping ($100), $10 each to change a single Smoke Alarm Battery (4), changing filter etc. Then he fixed a broken kitchen cabinet drawer and text pix and quote. I again, replied broken items are on the tenant. Then another text with pix; this time, he has to go to home depot again, to get two door bottoms and that will be the next day. Very smart, so he can charge me another $60.00 compensation and tolls. If this is guy genuine, how come he forget get to pick all the materials at the same time. The main job was fixing the doors. Now not only that, he is quoting me again to fix bottoms on the same doors $60.00 each.
Here's the fun part. When I refused to pay for some of the repairs which I clearly told him; the tenant is responsible, he left a litany of text messages, including a quote 'what kind of games are you playing?
I regret having hired him.
After paying his invoice, I realized he didn't leave any unused material Next day, I did text him about the unused material. He sent a gift card for the door knob.
If I did not text, finders keepers!
stacey b.A few years ago I had a lovely little incident in our garage. Lets just say there was a perfect replica of my car door in the wall in the garage that I have been living with for the past few years.
After ignoring it for a while, I finally decided to call around and see if someone could fix it.
I decided to call Dan and he answered his phone!!! Anyone who has been looking for any kind of contractor these days knows that getting someone to answer the phone/return a phone call is half the battle. Dan was able to come out the very next day and repair it, and did an amazing job.
He was timely, professional and pricing was fair. He also sent process shots of the repair which was a bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Highly recommend!
Dan does great work. I called to have him fix up a couple door frames and some shoe molding my dog had done some damage to as a puppy, and other miscellaneous patch ups in my apartment. He was available within a day or two and fixed up everything in a short afternoon, all for a fair price.
Dan was easy to arrange/schedule everything with, and he's a real nice guy so it was nice to talk with him while he worked. I would recommend to anyone.
Caveats: I live out-of-state and own a tenant-occupied house that was built in 1974 and was a ""fixer-upper"" when we bought it in 2006.
Maybe it is the above info that makes it so hard to find a great handyman. I don't know. But when I first contacted Dan I had really high hopes based on all the great reviews. I explained that we really needed was a handyman we could send a ""To Do"" list to and they could take it from there....set up appointment with tenant and follow-thru until list was complete.
It never really worked out that way. Lots of calls/explanations/rescheduling with tenants/confusion over to do list/confusion over parts needed/etc. The final straw was the 4th (or 5th?) scheduled appointment that Dan arrived at and immediately told tenants he couldn't stay to complete any of the work.....just dropped by to cancel in person.
He seems like a really nice guy to sit and chat with. Maybe if you are on site and really flexible with your time he'd be a good fit. The amount of time and money I spent, though, to try and get a pretty basic list complete (we're talking installing a kitchen sprayer, touch-up painting, putting on a screen door, etc....) wasn't worth the hassle. 3 1/2 months after first contacting him, my tenants have thrown up their hands in frustration, and I'm moving on....
I called Dan yesterday to fix 2 holes in my wall, and patch 15 other minor spots that were damaged after removing large, heavy objects from my game room walls. This morning, to my surprise, Dan arrived early, NOT LATE!! His work was quality, and the price was reasonable. The best part was he let me add additional work that I thought of at the last minute. Dan will definitely be my ""GO-TO"" Handyman for all future projects. What a relief to find someone I could trust to do it right.
I had such a great experience with Dan. I had a job that needed to be done in a very short time frame and he was so flexible and did a great job replacing my kitchen base boards. Dan is not only very meticulous and professional he is also very personable and you get such a feeling of trust and confidence from him. I would recommend him over and over again. Cannot say enough of how happy I am with his work. He's a fantastic person and he's good with dogs.
Chris B.Fortunately, this review will only serve to echo the comments of many other people regarding Handyman Dan and his work. Dan's service was excellent and I would highly recommend him. Why? Unlike many other guys in his profession (or contractors) I called Dan and received a call back within 5 minutes (I've found that many calls for help go unreturned or are very delayed...not the case with Dan). I was in need of some drywall repair and after shooting him a few photos of the scene of the crime, he sent me back a reasonable quote and an date of repair that was only two days away. He showed up on time, did an excellent job patching the wall and matching the texture and was enjoyable to talk to thru the entire process. Thanks for the help Dan!
