Recommended Customer Reviews

Really good response time and service. The technician was able to make it out the day after we called and he was on time. Prices were good and I was informed of the details of the work needed every step of the way. Would definitely recommend.

My fire alarm went off apparently without cause and triggered a circuit breaker trip on a Saturday evening. I contacted Handy Electrician and Percy came out first thing on a COLD Sunday morning to check it out. Turns out the circuit breaker was faulty.
Percy was professional and friendly. And he put up with my dog annoying him as he worked!

Super fast, super friendly and the price was great.
I can't say anything about Handy Electrician without giving a shout out to yelp's ""request a quote"" feature. If you're on here already, then you should use this feature. It's easy, fast and accurate and Handy Electrician uses it really well!

I'm so glad I found handy electrician! Percy was courteous, professional and very thorough. His prices were very reasonable and I have already referred him to another friend. I'll definitely be calling him back to do future work

I'll use Percy again. He came out the next day and showed up when he said he would. It costed what he said it would to repair two outdoor outlets, and he's a good guy. I liked that he offers time and materials billing instead of going by a book price.

I shopped around for my project and found Percy to be the best quality and price option. We were converting from a gas water heater to an electric model. We live in a ranch style home with a crawlspace and the codes today would no longer allow us to install a gas water heater in that location without running a vent straight up through the house and the attic to the roof - which was not an option.
However, installing a new electric water heater requires a dedicated 30 amp, 250v circuit, plus we added a recirculating pump so that we could have near instant hot water at our kitchen faucet. This addition required a dedicated 120v, 20 amp circuit. However, we didn't have any open spaces in our electrical panel. Therefore, Percy recommended installing a sub-panel that would accommodate these new circuits and give us a few more spaces for future expansion.
I did my research and verified with the state that Percy is a licensed electrician and is unlimited in scope of what he can do.
Initially, we expected Percy to be the one doing all the work, but later found out that one of his people, a nice young man named Roman who came out to collect the information for the final estimate was the one who would be doing the work. At first we were hesitant about letting him do the work as he is an apprentice with Percy. However, Percy said that he would personally come out with Roman as he started the job and that he would be in and out throughout the day inspecting all of the work Roman did.
He explained that he is trying to grow his business, so he can't be the one doing all the work. However, he has personally trained all of his apprentices and inspects all work they do on the job to ensure it is up to the specifications and is fully compliant with today's electrical codes.
Well, Roman did an outstanding job! Other electricians said they would have to cut a hole in the sheetrock and they CLEARLY stated that they would NOT be responsible for any sheetrock repairs. So I was thinking I was going to have to patch up the hole where they installed the new panel. However, Roman cut such a perfect size hole to exactly match the size of the new panel, that I didn't have to do any sheetrock repair. He didn't even make a mess in the storage room where the panel was installed.
Roman showed me what he did in great detail so I would know what to tell the installers when they came to install the water heater. He even showed me how the special beaker worked in the crawlspace where the water heater installers (Delta Mechanical - Home Depot's exclusive contractors) would need to safeguard themselves when making their connections. So this circuit has both a standard double-pole breaker in the new electrical sub-panel, but also a manual ""T"" breaker in the crawlspace that can be used if any maintenance work needs to be completed.
Percy's quote was 25% - 30% lower than any of the other electricians whom we had out to give us estimates. I highly recommend Percy Hampton and his apprentice Roman. I couldn't have had a better experience. Plus Percy stands behind his work and will fix anything that may come up if their installation encounters any problems - which I highly doubt.
If I ever need any other electrical work, Percy - The Handy Electrician is the one I am calling.

So nice, prompt, professional, and worked with me to return after I needed to go buy a new ceiling fan. Will hire again!

Percy is great. He is not only a skilled electrician, but also is a great guy as well. He is honest, fair and will make sure he does a great job. I wouldn't call anyone else.

I contacted Percy at Handy Electrician after realizing that changing out my chandelier wasn't as easy as I thought. I called him on a Sunday and he was at my house within an hour.
I can't say enough good things about the service Percy provided. He was super professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will definitely contact him again when I am ready to switch out some of my other light fixtures in my home.
