An electrical circuit that serviced critical lights and outlets shorted out on 12/30 during the last few days of our daughters first pregnancy. Since she was quite occupied, I looked for an electrician to come fix it on New Year's Eve. Jamie Hammond responded quickly, came, provided a FREE evaluation and estimate (hard to find that these days!) and fixed it for a very reasonable cost. He also has a grown daughter so we Dads had a good time socializing while he worked. Thanks again, Jamie and have a healthy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year.

Tenants complained of lights flickering. Called one of these guys to check to see if correct bulbs were used. They came out to the house and helped tenants find the breaker box for their ATT cable connection! which had been hidden behind a cabinet the tenants had. It took him 11/2 hours to find and flip the breaker on . Never checked the two bulbs I called him out to check! Cost me $150.

Last summer, Mr.Hammond was helpful when we moved and experienced some indoor wiring problems and problems with the old panel - he responded promptly to our minor emergencies and got us up and running. However, we also hired Mr. Hammond to replace the ancient electrical panel. We thought we were in fine shape with the new panel, until on 3/30/15, we experienced losing power to half of the circuits in our house. We called SMUD, and they found a serious safety error in the panel installation: the aluminum ""leg"" wire from SMUD was spliced directly to copper wire feeding the panel. The power outage was caused by a fire started by the aluminum wire touching the copper. Fortunately, the fire was contained in the panel box, and we did not lose any appliances because of the short. However, the SMUD technician said this was NOT the way a panel should be installed, and, since Hammond was in charge of the installation (work was done when I was at my office) who knows if he got the proper inspection by SMUD. Long story short, I cannot recommend this electrician, not knowing how diligent he was in ensuring that the electrical panel installation job he did was completely safe and up to code.

Hammond has been our electrician for years. I went to Yelp to pull up their phone number and did a double take when I saw the rating. I am really surprised to hear the terrible story from Paris and sickened that anyone would behave so poorly.
My experiences have always been outstanding and just this week I called to have them do some work for us. Jamie and Ed were already working on my project when I came home and were very respectful and professional. Let's hope whoever mistreated you Paris is no longer with the firm.

I have used Hammond Electric for several jobs on my older home. Jamie did a couple of them with an assistant, and sent someone else out for one. They were prompt and courteous, and did the work quickly at a competitive price. We have been happy with their work.

Hello all, I do not EVER write reviews on anything nor have I ever posted on Yelp, although I do look at Yelp when I want a review before I do business with someone. And in no way trying to take away from the company and their quality of work but wanted to share my experience. So im picking up my son from middle school here in Elk Grove, on Bruceville and Soaring Oaksand when I made the u turn, I guess I made someone mad cause the next thing I know, a truck pulls along side my car and proceeds to call me the N word amongst other things... it so sad that in 2014 this still exist and that someone has no regards screaming it at someone much less in front of a whole bus stop full of kids...Im hurt my beautifuI babies had to even see that.I wrote down all the information since it was a business truck : It was a white truck driven by two males, i didnt get the whole license plate but the last 3 digits are 854 and the licensce number on the side of the truck was CL677192.They made the u tirn on Soaring Oaks behind me, screamed their obsecenties and then turned into the parking lot where Kinkos and Chipotle is. I proceeded to call their business to complain.. and whoever answered the phone who said he was a manager (probably not) stated he didn't believe me and hung up the phone.Even another mother who is my sons friends mom stated she would be calling as well. It's sad they have people representing their company who do this and even sadder they can care less. What trumps all of that is that this kind of thing happens far too often, and no one cares. Anywho, if anyone n the Sacramento area needs an electrician, don't go to HAMMOND ELECTRIC and put money in the pockets of bigots. Sorry to anyone else who works here and are wonderful people ,not trying to be rude, I am upset at these individuals. They may be great electricians but road rage makes a persons true colors come out.
