I've had a love for construction since I was young. It started when I was eight, building a three-level clubhouse in my grandparents' backyard. I can’t tell if it was the joy of accomplishment or the neighborhood kids eager to be part of my club (complete with a secret password), but I’ve been building and improving for 30 years. I spent my summers laboring for my father, who owned a construction firm. I absorbed everything from the skilled tradesmen I observed. At twelve, I began accepting side jobs in our area. People were amazed by my work ethic and the standard of my craftsmanship. When I turned 14, my mother got me a membership at the Greenville Wood Workers Guild to keep me focused. The men there taught me the importance of precision. I started as an electrician's helper and worked my way up to lead electrician for six years before being recruited as a jack of all trades for a general contractor. And now...
