Living in Austin 20+ years and I never knew about this place. This store was recommended to me by my neighbor's HVAC guy and I'm glad I went. I came here for a part for my home HVAC system (condenser fan motor) and the person who helped me knew seemingly instantly exactly what part I needed even though the label on my original component was long ago illegible. He answered my n00b questions with alacrity and patience, and everyone at the shop was incredibly kind. I'll be back for sure the next time I need HVAC components for my home.

My husband went to buy a capacitor for the air conditioning to replace the one that stopped working. It would have been $33 on Amazon overnight delivery. My husband didn't want to wait until tomorrow because of the extreme heat so paid $70 to these guys!

I would never choose to shop at this place again or have them do anything for us. They don't need to be so exorbitant with the prices, none of us are having an easy time in this economy. Don't make yourselves out to be the helpful friendly neighborhood guy when you are just price gouging on those same neighbors just because you can.

I work for an AC company and was in dire need of a certain evap motor I couldn't find anywhere and Charlie helped me out immensely! He was very knowledgeable, quick, and they had exactly what I needed. I had to call back twice to change shipping methods (my customer needed this motor NOW) and Charlie took all the changes and got me everything I needed on the spot! Thanks, Charlie!

They didn't want to repair my motor. Too busy. Entirely disinterested and unhelpful.
The business manager now posts that they have no technician for the type of motor.
The first greeting I had when I walked in was, ""don't work on those. Can't get it open.""
This is not true, since I already had it opened.
But no one looked at it. So is it true that they don't work on this type of motor, which no one looked at, or is this reply from the manager just an effort to counter a deservedly bad review?

I had an electric motor for a scuba compressor that died so I emailed Hamilton Electric to see what they could do. After a couple emails Bart asked me to call him so we could discuss in more detail. We had a really good conversation regarding my options and he suggested it would be in my best interest to go with the existing model that I have from another vendor. When I started to take the motor apart I found the problem and emailed him again. He suggested I bring it in for him to look at. In the end he sold me a new capacitor and the motor is back up and running. He was very knowledgeable friendly and helpful. I know I'll be back if I have any more motor problems with any of the various mechanical systems in my house.

Absolutely the greatest. Recently had an issue with a fan motor,it died. Bought a new one from Hamilton electric it turned out to be defective and they stood behind it on the spot. Second motor turned out to be defective and I was getting frustrated. The kind folks at Hamilton talk me through several items and I brought that motor back. Much research on their part and the first motor was incorrect that I brought them to begin with but they still corrected the issue ,. Made me a very happy camper and was at no additional charge, which it certainly should have been. I've dealt with Hamilton electric for over 20 years and this is the type of experience that is normal from them.

I brought my lathe into Hamilton yesterday and it was fixed by this afternoon! I don't know if they are always that fast or if my job was just a simple fix but I was pleased with the quick service! When I dropped it off there were a couple of younger guys (nice enough) who helped me out and when I picked it up today the two brothers (owners I think) completed my transaction. They were totally nice but not in that uncomfortable way that makes you think they haven't talked to a female in a decade (which is kind of typical in male dominated industries/shops) and they even carried my heavy dirty machine out to my car which is very thoughtful I think. I hope that I won't be needing any electrical services in the future but if I do manage to break one of my tools I will definitely go back to them.

Great customer service, friendly troubleshooting over the phone on my AC condenser. Called to buy a $150 motor but offered to test motor. Only needed a $35 capacitor. Honest and helpful ... Thank you!

Needed a simple part for a fan motor and I guess the guy was having a bad day or he's always a jerk because I was very passive aggressively insulted. ""I figured you didn't know what you were doing"" was his second line. I just had to check my notes on the part number is all. So not only will I not be back but I won't allow any of my employees to be back. I'll agree somebody doesn't know what they are doing.

Late Friday night, our home A/C stops cooling. Outside condenser unit not working.

A bit of investigation leads to a bad capacitor. Not difficult to replace oneself if done carefully. However...

Every A/C company I could find open on Saturday morning told me they would not sell me the inexpensive part. Said I had to pay for service call and installation, who knows when on one of the hottest weekends of the year.

A/C repair is an utter racket - I get the restrictions on refrigerant, it's a chemical - but a simple mechanical part, of which you have hundreds in stock? Give me a break.

Took the part to Hamilton, they had a perfect replacement at a reasonable price. If anyone else finds themselves in need of this common repair and part, go to Hamilton Electric Works before you pay the A/C extortion fees.
