I met Josh (and his dog!) while sitting outside at Primos Pizza in Danville a while back. Turns out we had a mutual friend, got to chatting and I learned he was an electrician. I had some outlets in my daughters room that weren't working and initially called my handyman to try and figure it out. Hours spent and no resolution...to the point where my handyman gave up and told me to try someone else. I remembered that I had met Josh previously and reached out to him. He had his lead electrician, Peter, out to my house within a few days and he was not only able to diagnose a tricky problem (wires had been cut within the walls) but was able to get everything up and running without having to open up walls or make a mess. Cost was affordable and they did a great job. Highly recommend.

I lost most of the power in my house. A small amount trickled in. I called Hamblin Electric and described the problem to Josh. I thought that perhaps my main panel had gone bad (a 1964 house). He said that he could stop by but that it sounded like something that PG&E should check out first. I called PG&E and they were there within 2 hours. The repairman discovered a bad splice at the PG&E box and repaired it. Everything was fine.

The repairman complimented Josh for recommending that I call PG&E before having Hamblin do a service call. Josh had said that I should first try to make sure that the problem was not with PG&E, rather than coming out and charging me for the visit only to have me then call PG&E. A big trust builder for me.

Josh and his team helped installed a over 500 lbs big chandelier on a 20 ft high ceiling for us. It took us quite some time but it was well planned and the quality of the work is great. Highly recommended working with Josh and his team!

Hamblin Electric was contracted by our roofer to replace whole house fans for our condo building. Josh Hamblin dealt with us on the phone and via email and was very courteous and accommodating of our schedule. He gave us a fair price as well. Electrician Peter and his assistant Noe came today, for a 7 a.m. call, and were professional, friendly, courteous, and good communicators before, during, and after the job. They wore shoe covers since it rained this a.m., lay down drop cloths to catch any debris, and cleaned up after the installation. They were quick and efficient in all their tasks. Excellent, high-quality service and highly recommended.

We'd been looking for an electrician to replace and update the lighting in our kitchen for quite some time. Thank goodness we found Hamblin Electric. What a great experience. Josh came to our house (on time) and patiently listened to our vision. He discussed with us several lighting options and together we came up with a plan. The removal of our old outdated fluorescent fixers and the installation of our new energy efficient recessed lighting went smoother than expected and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. I just finished a Main Service Panel upgrade and added an EV Charging Circuit with Hamblin Electric. I wanted to work with a local business and interviewed several companies. Now that my project is over I am glad to say I made the right choice. The Hamblin electricians who did the work were courteous, professional and on time. I have some cosmetic work to get done where the old panel was installed but it already looks so much better than it did and I have a convenient charging station for my EV.

Josh, the business owner, offered the most comprehensive estimate for my project than his competitors, and his preliminary job cost estimates were right on the money. He even advised me on other fees for the city permit and PGE services, so my total project costs were well within the original range he provided.

One thing I did not think enough about when I was choosing a contractor, and I think this is very important, is the relationship the contractor has to have with the city and PG&E. I learned it's not just about the electrical work: It's also about project management and coordinating those other resources necessary for the project. I did know a bit about permits, but not all the inspections and certainly did not consider PG&E's role. During the project I had multiple inspections by the city and PG&E and they both commented on the quality and neatness of Hamblin's work. They commented, unsolicited, that I made a good choice when I chose Hamblin Electric as my electrical contractor.
