We had an outdoor gate light, a video doorbell, and some outdoor outlets placed. Hale Kai Electric did an excellent job! The work was labor intensive as some digging was involved. Forrest and his team made the job look easy. This company bends over backwards to help their customers out with no hesitations. He even came back to help me troubleshoot an issue on a Sunday with his family waiting in the car!! Who does that?! We now have a terrific looking light and an excellent video doorbell. We will most certainly use Hale Kai Electric for our electrical needs in the future! Much Mahalo Forrest!

Forrest is everything you want in an electrician; honest, professional, reliable, kind, skilled, responsive, and punctual.

So far two projects are done - smart doorbell installation, fixed a couple of outlets, smoke detector (removal & replacement), replaced floodlight, removed other unnecessary wires, etc.

We have a third project scheduled which will be the biggest; really interested to see how that turns out.

Commercial or residential, big or small, I'm sure Forrest can do it all!

Replacing a bunch of light fixtures, re-installing my wired smoke detectors, and figuring out an issue with a loose wire that stumped a previous electrician! Super knowledgeable! After searching high and low for a licensed contractor I came across Forrest and his team via yelp. Not only did he provide a competitive quote but he was extremely quick to respond which is hard to find. Highly suggest you use these guys if you are looking for a legit electrician.

Forrest fixed my 1972 built home's electrical system and made it all up to date as well as fixed many malfunctioning outlets, and malfunctioning water heater wires and timer. He also fixed our incorrectly installed shower overhead light and updated it to water resistant type safety. Will always call Forrest for electrical issues! 100 percent!

These guys are terrific! Forrest comes on time, is smart, efficient, and professional. He offers suggestions for the most efficient way of doing things and he doesn't cut corners when he works. He and his assistant Dan are neat and clean up well after the job, vacuuming and sweeping carefully where needed. They installed two ceiling fans, two outlets and switches, a motion detector, and relocated and installed a gfci outlet in the garage.

I am so happy to have found them and hope they don't become too busy to fit me in for more work I would like done. I highly recommend them. Thank you Yelp for helping me to find them in the first place.

I came upon Forrest Yard by luck...through YELP I asked for estimates and Yelp chooses WHO to sent the inquiry TO, I had no say...it was disappointing when the first two electrician companies said they don't do what I wanted...huh, looked like they were looking for the large $$ jobs !

Then Forrest responded that he could do those items that I wanted done. Had just bought a condo in Waipahu and one of the results of the home inspection service during escrow was that one of the breaker panel switches were 'double tapped' meaning that one wire was not mean to be inserted with another wire, but likely when the building was built, the electrician was lazy to add another breaker switch. I told Forrest if he could repair the electrical wiring connected to the garbage disposal as whoever had installed the disposal did a 'hatchet' job workmanship-wise. It was badly spliced and connected with wire nuts and lazily wrapped in electrical tape along with not having a strain relief collar/stress clamp on the underside of the disposal itself. He said a quote that kinda floored me (I was expecting to pay more). He then said he can do an electrical survey for an additional amount since home inspectors are known to miss things (tell me about it..I wonder why the home inspector thought nothing of the electrical wiring to the garbage disposal? I said to please go ahead with that too.

Scheduled for mid afternoon yesterday, he showed up...upon looking at my unit, he said he will change his estimate and it would be less (how NICE that an ELECTRICIAN will reduce their cost upon coming in person and now seeing the contents with what he/she is faced with.. I was floored AGAIN !

While he was doing that, I thought of two other things I asked him to do on a whim...one was if he could do something about placing an outlet inside the open upper cabinetry above the stove where I wanted to put my microwave oven..no problem, he could cut into the drywall and put a new outlet where there was none...I asked if he could do anything with the 240v electrical line for the range that was just lying practically completely on the floor as it was not attached to the back wall.. He said he could cut into the drywall and mount it flush.. I said YES !

He told me he'd have to go to a nearby home improvement store to buy additional parts and said he'd be gone at least 30 minutes (which of course it did take more than that since this was a Saturday).

Upon completing all the work (which was practically 3 hours), he finished with all the work that I wanted and more that I requested on the spot. He was REALLY enjoyable to talk to.. other electricians I've in the past were there for the task and did no talking. I was shocked at the price --- lower than I would have imagined !

He then wrote out his invoice on his smart phone and I was ready to give him my credit card. He said he doesn't take payments to avoid the hassles and sent me an email to which I pay a secured third party company to pay the invoice. Within 3 minutes I paid off that invoice...through that email from Forrest with that link.

Several times during his work in my unit he asked if there was anything else I wanted done, but those two other items were all that I needed from him.

A true honest electrician that did NOT nickle and dime their customer. Though he is based out in Hauula, he goes everywhere ! I am glad to have had him do my electrical work...I will GLADLY recommend him to my friends and co-workers and of course use him again if needed...!

I just had three ceiling fans installed by Forrest. Very reasonable rates, install was smooth and efficient, takes pride in his work. Honest and super nice too! Highly recommend, will be calling Forrest again for future projects.
