@Nathan- you experience, albeit a while ago, is absolutely accurate. The owner is overbearing, and they do not do what they say. On top of that, they seem to overcharge/inflate prices.

Unfortunately our experience was similar, and now that we are having issues with the work they did, we are afraid to ask them come back and resolve it. Lesson learned in this case.

I'd advise others to stay away from H&L.

*the other positive review sounds a bit exaggerated...almost like a bogus ""Amazon shill posting"". I'd be skeptical of it's validity.

**PROCEED WITH CAUTION BEFORE HIRING THEM TO DO ANY TYPE OF WORK**

I found this company on Angie's List to replace fluorescent cans to LED trim in my house. The woman I was working with was very nice in helping me set up an appointment but did not relay the correct job to the techs which resulted in a miscommunication.

When the tech showed up, they had me speak with the owner named Will over the phone. I tried to explain the job we hired them to do, but Will continued to be very aggressive, implied that I didn't know what I was talking about, and only offered to do the job at a inflated rate.

The fault could be mine as a customer, possibly requesting the wrong type of service. But as a business owner, learn some respect and don't be aggressive by raising your voice when that type of behavior was not reciprocated.

Based on the only other Yelp review , this company could be 5 star rated, in which case, it is my loss for not using them for my home improvement project. With the experience I had this morning, I would give them 0 stars for the business owner's terrible customer service and extremely rude interaction over the phone.

Typical contractors/company trying to force the customer to make decisions by being aggressive. NO THANK YOU!

H&L Electric hung a chandelier for us from a 15' vaulted ceiling -- three times! We had purchased a chandelier but didn't realize until it was hung that we would need to purchase additional length for it to hang at the proper height. Then, when hung a second time found that one of the light sockets was malfunctional and had to return the chandelier for a new one. Finally, with a working light and enough length we had it hung and are very pleased with it.
From the start H&L were extremely competent, professional and timely. What might have been a frustrating and expensive project was done quickly and professionally (and for a price break on the third hanging!). On top of that they needed to carry a large, heavy ladder up and down four stories as it wouldn't fit in the elevator.
It was a joy to work with H&L. They were friendly, fun and punctual. I strongly recommend this excellent company for your electrical needs.
