Benny Nguyen came to our house to diagnose why my expensive can lights kept on burning out. He found out my dimmer switch was not compatible with the lights that were both recommended and supplied from another company. Then he replaced the switch and hopefully this will solve the problem. Gee, I wish the three other electricians I hired to diagnose this problem figured it out. But only Benny did. I love this guy. I want to adopt him! Not only was he professional, on time, thorough, extremely intelligent, explained everything in plain English, but also, he's a sweet guy. He answered all our questions without trying to upsell us. But I still think buying Gubruds' service plan is a good idea, because we've been neglecting our home's electrical demands. I would definitely do business with Gubruds again.

This company is very tricky in luring you in for their service. They told me they will do a diagnostic and if it is minor, they will fix it for $245 (diagnostic and fix). If it is major and if I don't agree with their price, they will charge it $79. When they came, they say they need more time to diagnose the problem and it will cost $245 for diagnostic alone. I refused. They still write a report and charge me $79. A report for something the technician didn't have time to diagnose.

We have used Gubrud's twice to install ceiling fans and both times they were awesome. They were communicative, on time, polite and they knew what they were doing. We had Marcus both times, and he was great! Super friendly and knew what he was doing.

This is our second time working with Gubrud's after having a positive experience the first time last year. Today, Bonnie showed up on time after having called to verify she was on her way. She thoroughly explained what needed to be done and efficiently took care of issues we had with outdoor electrical outlets. We were very happy with her work and would highly recommend Gubrud's.

Negative 100 stars. Two of the outlets and light switch in our house were not working all of a sudden. We have an old house so we thought we need to get an electrician. We found this company on Angie's List. We called and we were told they will come to check the problem for free and give us a quote. They came over, didn't look at anything, and told us it would cost $266 for a diagnostic and easy fix. We became suspicious. They looked at our circuit breaker box. We asked them how much to change two outlets with GFCI. They said the whole thing would cost $600+. We became more suspicious and said no. Then they lowered it to $400+. We said no because it felt shady. When they left. After reading things on the Internet, we decided to go to the circuit breaker box and turned off everything and turned it all back on, and then voila, the outlets and light switch that was broken is now working. So these people were gonna charge us hundreds of dollars to turn the switch back off and on?

I needed help with removing canned lights and wiring in preparation for installing skylights. Bonnie was super helpful. She arrived on time, listened to what I needed done, and started problem solving right away. She prepared the kitchen ceiling for the skylight installer to come in. Then she installed 2 canned lights in my family room matching them to an existing light, all for a fair price. I will definitely keep using Gubruds Electrical again.

I had used Gubruds before so, when I had an issue with two of my can lights in my kitchen, I called them again. Two of my can lights had gone out so I assumed the bulbs had gone bad so I bought two replacements at Home Depot. When I attempted to replace one of the bulbs both of them came on, then moments later they both went out again. I became concerned that there was a wiring (and potential fire risk) problem in my ceiling. I called Gubrubs. The receptionist was very professional and even gave me a $75 discount for being a repeat customer. The electrician arrived within the agreed time. She was courteous, masked and wore booties. I explained the issue and within a few minutes she diagnosed the problem as being broken filaments in the bulbs. She replaced the two bulbs (which I supplied) using my stepladder and presented me with an invoice for $252-95. No mention of the discount. She was on site for less than 30 minutes.
I have no problem paying for services and expertise but I do believe this pricing was excessive.

This company is a ripoff!!...they quoted me over $800 for 7 smoke detectors replacements which I was able to get taking care of for $420 dollars that is over $400 markup when I posted a negative review they responded and made some assertion that what I replaced with were battery operated detectors that this a LIE!! They don't know what I replaced my detectors with since they never contacted me. they were replaced with Smoke/Carbon wired detectors..And they blocked me from countering their response to me...Use at your risk of OVER PAYING!!!!
