I had my electric panel replaced. Tim and his crew did a wonderful job. Tim was very thorough every step of the way. He ensured that the new installation of the panel will pass inspection. He arranged a lot of upfront work (e.g. the wiring) to be done beforehand, and then coordinated both the city and PG&E to be present at different times during the day of installation to save time.

During the replacement process, we've learned that the previous installation of my AC unit had cut some corners. They have left the wire going into the panel overly exposed, without shielding for a substantial length. We consulted with the AC Company (initialed AT that has a close partnership with Home Depot) that recently installed my AC unit, and they claimed that they do this frequently, and they have passed inspection with that. That, I'm not too sure, but from a civilian standpoint, I suspect that it is a safe thing to do, leaving wire exposed so that rodents can possibly chew on it, if they happen to gain access close to the wire leading up to the panel..... But anyway, Tim came up with a clever solution to work around the problem, and that simply demonstrated Tim's dedication to his high quality work standards.

Overall, I would highly recommend Tim to others.

I needed to replace electric panel in our house. Of all companies I contacted on Yelp Tim Ash from Grid Electric was the only one who actually came to take a look and explain me in details what are the possibilities and limitations. He then instructed me how should I initiate the permit process and pass it to him to maintain it.
Both installation and overall process management (PG&E and City representative should do their part of work in the day of installation) were done nicely and efficiently.
All Tim's visits were on time and he always weared a mask.

We called out Tim and his crew after having spa troubles. Even though he isnt a spa tech, he was able to figure out my issue when the spa guy didn't. We had him replace our spa breaker as well as some additional plugs and new fixtures in the front. Will definitely hire again!!!

Extremely unreliable!

I spoke with Grid Electric (not sure if I spoke with Tim or Daniel) two weeks ago. He said he'd come by that week to take a look at what work I needed done at my home and would complete the work the following week. He never came by nor called to let me know he couldn't make it. When I called him the following day he told me he was sick and would call me in a day or two to reschedule. I never received a phone call back.
I've tired to reach them via phone and text for past several days and have yet to get a return phone call (which at the very least I am certainly owed).

I do not recommend Grid Electric.

After our EV charger stopped working, I called Tim for help in swapping it out for a new one. Tim adjusted his schedule on the fly and was able to work on it the same day. After they promptly arrived, the work was done quickly, efficiently, and was cleaned up in a very professional manner. Furthermore, Grid Electric's pricing for the work was way more competitive than other EV home charger installers that we had contacted in the area. I would definitely use Grid Electric again, and highly recommend them!

Tim was simply great! He was very punctual (which I appreciate) when he came to give me a quote for installing the EV charging equipment. Out of the 5 electricians we were considering, not only was he the most affordable, but also the most detailed. He took his time to make sure where we wanted to install the EVSE was appropriate, and answered all my questions throughly. I had needed the installation kind of urgently because I am commuting to Oakland everyday and would need to be able to charge my car right away. He was able to accommodate my schedule and install the EVSE for me within a few days. He was very professional and even offered an one year warranty should we encounter anything with the charger. I would highly recommend him!

Tim and Daniel just finished installing a home EV charger, flood light and helped fix a faulty outdoor light switch. They have been very responsive throughout the whole process and taught me quite a bit about my home electricity. Can definitely tell they take pride in their work. Highly recommend!

Tim and his team was great! I was getting my floors done and all of my ethernet wire were coming in from the floor. I had to have an electrician fix this immediately, otherwise it would delay my installations on my floors. I need help fast and Tim was able to work with my schedule. He came and worked in installing and routing ethernet jacks and setting up my main router the very next day when most electrician were booked 4-6wks out. He was reasonably priced and very friendly. I definitely would recommend Tim and his team on any electrical projects.

Tim is great! We had him replace the electrical panel for a house that we just bought. He was very responsive, quick, and did a great job. He took care of the permit, patiently answered all our questions and was very easy to work with. He did such a good job with the electrical panel replacement, that we hired him to install recessed lighting throughout the house as well. He was very professional and cleaned up after the work was done. We definitely recommend Grid Electric!

We recently sold our house and move into a rental. I found Tim on Yelp and called him to replace the electric cord to our dryer so we could connect to the wall socket.
