Brandi T.He was able to do the repair for my sub pump that was not working . After hours time with mask and fixed the problem ...
Run and look elsewhere!
So I need two or three wall receptacles and one outside receptacle repaired or replaced. After a msg to Good New via Yelp, I finally connect with Miguel on the phone. I start to explain what I need, he almost immediately interrupts and asks how many bedrooms, single or two story, etc etc. I answer, then he immediately states that he recommends that he go through the entire house and replace all the receptacles, and it will only cost me around $1,200.
He never took the time to listen to my problem and why I called. He has no idea what year this house was built, whether the receptacles I need replacing are in the garage/house/other, are they recently installed and went bad, or hmm, any of several questions I would expect he ask.
No, he simply and immediately attempts to sell me something I don't need for a quick $1,200.
Look elsewhere. My suspicion is you'll be taken for a ride here. He may do a good job, not sure, but he'll likely get a good chunk of your money, much of which you may not need to spend. What he won't get is my business. I don't recommend him for yours. I suspect he may take advantage of those that he can.
Rhonda K.Called Good News Electric due to reviews on yelp, I had a switch that shorted out my circuit breaker when plugged in my electrical accessory. Miguel came out and changed the circuit breaker but not the switch that I plugged into that cause the shortage. He suggested me change out all my switches in my home I rejected the $3,000 job but allow him to change my lights and the circuit breaker as well all the job cost over $300.00. The very next day I plugged in my accessory and the same thing happen, the circuit breaker blew again. I called Miguel and told him what happen and ask how come he didn't change the switch that I was plugging my accessory into along with the circuit breaker? I wasn't given a good answer but told me it would cost additional $200 to come back to change the plug. I was so mad that he did not guarantee his work and wanted to charge for coming to correct the problem. I told him I would not pay $200 and he finally agreed in $100.00 but there's no way I should have been charged additional money for a job not done right. I would not suggest this company it wasn't ""Good News"" for me!!!
Edsel V.We contacted Good News Electric to install a pair of outdoor lamps on the outside of our home and they did a great job with the installation!
Miguel was very professional and provided a free estimate with a written quote of the work to be done. His estimate was very fair and he was available almost immediately to start the project. Miguel and his team showed up on time and they were very thorough. They completed the installation of the lamps and had everything cleaned up in a little over 4 hours.
I will definitely use Good News Electric for any of my future electrical projects!
Rick S.Miguel did a thorough job and was very good at setting up a convenient appoint time that was best for me. I needed a 50 amp double pole breaker Gfci breaker replaced that kept tripping when I ran my spa heater. To my surprise, Miguel showed me that the breaker was wired incorrectly with the ground wire not screwed into the breaker....which really provide no ground fault protection to the spa. This was like this for over 20 years originally installed incorrectly by the spa company. Miguel, thank you for not only fixing the problem, but actually making the circuit safe for use, Highly recommended,
Amelia S.I am so grateful to Miguel. We were on a time crunch with our repairs, and he came out the same day - free of charge - to diagnose and repair the electrical issues in the house. He explained everything thoroughly, ensuring I understood the scope of his job. He is very quick to respond, very patient, and works quickly. I will definitely use him in the future and am really glad with the work.
Silvia E.Amazing, Miguel came to my house within an hour the same evening I had sent him a message as well to others on Yelp.
My husband and I couldn't believe it. He was very friendly , willing to do the job the same eve, we knew he had knowleged of the issue, without getting the estimate , ask him to do the job , for our surprise no extra charge for the job being done after hours job.
Iam not the type of person who gives reviews but in this case he deserves all the way, I really will call him again if needed.
Thank you Miguel.

Kristian P.I requested quotes on Yelp from a few electricians, and most wanted to charge $120+ to just come out to the house and diagnose the problem. I guess that electricians are in high demand...
Miguel showed up and walked the property, he fixed one issue that we were having with a GFCI outlet in the garage, and it took him about 20 mins (quick). The total for that was $175. I also requested that our outdoor lighting have alterations completed, and there were some switches in the house that needed to be replaced with dimmers. He said that the entire job would be about $700, but that it was best to do a time + materials payment. I asked him what parts were needed so that I could get prices and potentially order them on Amazon. He said that he would get the parts from his supplier.
He came back to the property the next day, arriving about 20 mins late, and worked for about 2 hours. He completed the interior of the house quickly, as I had already purchased the Lutron Dimmer Switches. He then proceeded to spend about 45 minutes with a 'Smart' outlet that was supposed to control the exterior lights. The app would not download on my iPhone X and sync to the outlet, which was strange. I didn't realize that I was going to pay his $100 hourly rate while I attempted to correct the tech issues, which took about 30 mins. He then tested a few things, diagnosed an issue with our fireplace and left to another job.
I requested an invoice for the work that was completed, and those items still left to complete, and received an email with an invoice for $2,000. I cancelled the remainder of the work, and had another handyman complete everything. After I cancelled the remaining work, his final invoice to me was $504, after haggling for a few minutes over the actual time and materials that were used.
Miguel is a very good electrician, but get a firm-bid from him prior to any work getting completed.
Mister R.Miguel came over that same afternoon/evening and was able to diagnose and repair various issues we had in the house. He was fair and very knowledgeable about what it could be and was able to quickly and accurately diagnose the issue. Did not try to sell us stuff we didn't need and explained everything the entire time he was working at our house. Come from the auto industry (as a technician) it was great to deal with someone that was professional, honest, and good at his job! Thanks again Miguel!!! We highly recommend!
Clemente C.Miguel is super cool to work with. He knows his business. Works on details. I can always get a hold of him. beyond competitive pricing he is also reliable.
