The first time I hired Marcelino was to add an outlet in a laundry room. He ended up patching some drywall and matching the paint without me even asking. Excellent.

I contacted him about doing some minor repairs and appliance replacement on a rental that I had. Unfortunately I ended up with a squatter in the house. Once that person was evicted he was able to proceed. He took out the dishwasher but did not turn off the water supply completely. Subsequently the kitchen was flooded with standing water for two days. As a result I have had over $45,000 in damage and lost income. He has not responded to my inquiries for his insurance coverage. He also says that work is done when it is not. The work that he does do is substandard. The photos are of a section of wall that was re-done and a bathtub that is supposedly ready to use.

I lived in that house since 1999. My favorite handyman had passed away, my next handyman moved out of Ventura County... I kept the house as a rental when I moved away...so I interviewed a handful of new candidates to address myriad issues my recent tenants had wreaked on my rental.

Chose Marcelino for fair pricing. He seemed sincere and willing to get a bunch of small repairs done. I'll be honest. I thought I'd found my new go-to handyman.

We went to Home Depot where I purchased over $400 of materials. I also reimbursed Marcelino $150 for things he had purchased in advance

He seemed trustworthy, so I paid him in advance for the work (ok, my bad) and gave him the lockbox code. Told him I was coming back in 2 weeks and for things to be done because my realtor was going to list the property.

Called him the day before I was coming back and he said he had had a family emergency and hadn't finished but would meet me at the property the next day.

The next day he didn't show up, didn't respond to 2 texts and two calls. He wasn't even close to finished, had taken my money and hundreds of dollars of materials and disappeared. Hasn't called me in 10 days for the new lockbox code, or to make arrangements to finish the work or at least return my supplies.
I call that thievery.

As a stickler for quality service I must say I was very satisfied ! I had some minor stucco damage that needed to be addressed as well as troubleshooting some electrical issues and resolving them promptly. Great service and reasonable prices definetily a must go to Handyman!
