Be careful if your women. They will take advantage of you. Had work done with them. I had a fountain outlet that wasn't getting any power to run the pump. The guy went on about how difficult it was to do. He gave my a estimate of $240. He finished in less than 20 mins. He didn't replace anything, just moved some wires around. My husband was so mad. How was I suppose to know. You expect a local company to be honest. I would never use them again & I will tell my friends to stay away.

Honestly, I have no idea how this company got any stars at all. Their customer service was rude and completely unhelpful. They didn't listen to to anything I asked, and they were completely incompetent. I'd recommend passing and finding another firm. #dissatisfied!!!

Don't expect your apointment time to be honored.

I had an extremely frustrating interaction with Gentec services. First they canceled their first two appointments on short notice (both on the day they were scheduled).
Then the technician that showed up said, 'he wasn't the right person to do the work' -- even though I'd both emailed a detailed description of the work that was needeed and followed that up with a phone call prior to the appointment.' Tteh technician said, the work I needed couldn't be done. At which point I looked up the work on the internet which showed him a step by step process for how to do it.

So then Gentec said they would send out the technician with the required knowledge on the following Monday at 3:00 PM. They then called Monday morning (again the day of the appointment - they don't seem organized enough to plan ahead to provide the customer with notice), to say they didn't know how to do the work.

If they don't know how to do something, that's fine. Just say so up front. (even though the work I needed was fairly easy and I was able to find another provider to do it),

What I don't appreciate is their missing 3 straight appointments before telling me that.

If you have endless time to wait and reschedule appointments and then hope you happen to get one of their ""knowledgeable"" technicians, this is the company for you. You may also want to look up how to do the work on the internet, so their technician can reference that once they arrive at your house.

Called these folks last weekend to set up an appointment for today at a target time of 1:00 p.m., with an overall window of 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., to install ceiling fans in my daughters' rooms because the AC is not enough to keep them from just about dying from the heat. Set up an appt with a related contractor for same time frame to deal with some work in the garage so only had to open the house for a minimum time. Other contractor showed up and did what he was to do. Time for appt today with Gentec came & went. No call, no text message. Called Gentec and after many rings it kicked over to a message system. I talked with a man who said he had no information about my appointment but would ask someone to call me. About 40 minutes later a man called who said he had no appt for me. Bad enough. But then he said (and kept repeating) ""since it wasn't a regularly scheduled appt. there's not much I can do,"" and that just makes it worse.

Not sure if this is an atypical experience, but from a diamond certified company, I expect at least some contrition for just completely blowing me off. Add to that the guy could only suggest I call back Monday and set up another appt. (rather than manning up and fixing his mistake now) and I can't see a single reason to give them a second chance.

I guess my daughters continue to have to swelter. Thanks Gentec.

Small job, quickly taken care of.
I'm impressed with how quickly Gentec returned my call, made an appointment, and took care of the loose wiring. The problem was minor and they treated it as such, not turning a minor job into a major re-wiring project. I appreciate their honesty, work ethic, and competitive prices. I'll definitely use them if I need an electrician in the future.

We needed a lot of electrical work done to our house. We found Gentec Services on Yelp and called them for an estimate. They sent AL M. to our house. We felt much more comfortable with Gentec than with the other companies we called, so we booked them.

AL was in charge and two workers came with him. AL was really nice and very professional!

Some of the work they did included installing; a new main panel (including moving the location), a new sub panel, arc fault breakers, and 3 new exterior lights (including compliant wiring). They also ran dedicated circuits to the washing machine & dryer and grounded a couple of outlets.

We are really happy with the work they did and are confident that they did everything to code as requested. Also, we want to emphasize that AL M. and his crew were extremely knowledgeable & professional and they did an fantastic job! AL M. deserves a bonus! If we need more work done in the further, we will request AL M.

With our furnace out and the winter cold creeping in, GENTEC had a technician out FAST, who quickly pinned the problem down to a faulty fuse. No upsell and no hidden fees, just a few observations and suggestions for future upkeep and maintenance. And it's WARM in the house again, which makes us all extremely happy! I will use GENTEC again in a heartbeat.

Recently used Chad Supnet from Gentec Services to position two TV wires/cables in the wall. He did an amazingly seamless job. He was pleasant, professional and followed up re arrival time for his two visits. Based on his expertise I would highly recommend this company.

I worked for Gentec for around 3 months. Although I no longer work for them I must say that they are a very professional, honest and do outstanding work. Joe is a class act. He treated me with the utmost respect and took care of me as an employee. I would highly recommend them for your electrical needs. The up- front pricing is awesome and Joe takes the time to train each employee to a standard that is second to none. Hire them- you won't be disappointed.

We found GENTEC through Angie's List and they were just great. We had LED recessed lighting installed in one room and a fan in another plus a ceiling repair and other electrical updates, switches, dimmers et al. They were clean, very professional, on time and thorough.

Al Moreno a master electrician had very useful suggestions for the recessed lighting and worked with us to accomplish everything we wanted. Experience matters!

We highly recommend this company.
