I was handed an electrical mess from the prior home owners. After a couple of outrageous quotes from General contractors I came across GENTEC.
After a year of stress from ridiculous quotes and worrying about safety etc we met Al who put that to rest in about 30 minutes. After a comprehensive inspection we were presented with many options as to what we needed, should and could do.
The craftsmanship and professionalism exhibited by Ryan and David was amazing as well as the timeline they were able to start and complete the job.

Back in 2015, I was hired Gentec to installed a level 2 EV charge station outside the garage, technician did a good job, But this company GENTEC Service didn't obtain permits from the county do my job. I was found out by a inspector came inspect my solar panels project. He was told me that "" he can give me a fine up to $500 "". I do ask this company "" do I need permits? But they said NO. advice everyone not to choices gentec services. As they did a bad job back in 2015, I had a issued to pass the solar panels inspection.

I cannot say enough about Gentec. They responded so quickly and were willing to listen to my situation. After having been turned down numerous times for a situation regarding converting wiring for a Nest thermostat, Gentec had their tech call me to get a full break down of the situation so he could bring everything he needed for the job.

Their intention was clear: get the job done the first time.

Their technician was extremely courteous and helpful. He spent hours with me trying to come up with different solutions and spoke with Nest technical support. We weren't able to get the Nest to work because of incompatibility, so they reduced the price of the job for me. He cleaned up everything and left my home like he had never been there.

Top quality job. Could not recommend them more strongly even though we were not able to get the desired outcome.

I used this company for my electrical needs Al is always very professional, they did my daughters house just in time for her moving in, all the electrical was done clean even my inspector was impressed and signed everything off I'm a tile contractor I'm always around electricians so i know good from bad remember you get what you pay for. When we remodel my daughters kitchen ill be calling them for a upgrade they already set it up for themselves, think of the next guy smart that's what my father taught me.

After a flooding issue which destroyed the entire first floor of our house we were not confident with the electricians our contractor wanted to use so after some research we hired Gentec to take care of the electrical repairs including changes we decided to do both to the interior and exterior of our house. By far one of the most professional flexible companies I've ever worked with. Our project manager, Al Moreno, listened and suggested viable options and worked with us to provide two estimates, one for the repair work for the insurance company and one for the additional work we wanted done. Due to the many overlapping projects going on concurrently Gentec worked with us to complete different work at different times. When we were crunched for time they brought in a larger crew including the owner to keep our project going and when there were delays they were flexible and quick to re-schedule per our needs. Mike, the operations manager worked with his contacts at city hall to transfer our permit at a reduced cost after we changed electrical companies and handled the constant re-scheduling. Ryan was the electrician who made many trips, did most of the work and I couldn't have been happier with his professionalism, knowledge and most importantly attention to detail. As we were our own general contractors for certain aspects and purchased products which couldn't work he explained in detail and advised us so that we didn't make the same mistakes again and encouraged us to not settle but explained what we needed to get the job done to our satisfaction. Gentec is my go to company for all electrical needs and I if your looking for electrical help I would highly recommend them.

They provided me a quote after the work was performed. I was shocked when I saw the bill. They are very expensive. I had to pay. Later they made an apology, when I complained. They said they always present the quote, get approval and then start work. In my case it didn't happen that way. I would have given 1 star but for the apology.

I called for help over the weekend and they called back first thing Monday. They showed up that afternoon. John, the guy who came to the house, was most professional - clean, respectful and, most important, knowledgeable. It was a harder job that expected, yet John was patient and determined to find and fix the problem - which he did.
From start to finish, my experience with this company was extremely positive. I give them an A+ and recommend you give them a call.

Gentec has worked with my mom on replacing electrical, lights, etc. in her older home in Pleasanton. I have nothing but the highest praise for their professionalism and attention. Mom lives in an older home and they have gone out of their way to do a great job. They are reliable and we have had nothing but the greatest of service from them. We highly recommend them!

I have to admit that Gentec was the 12th electrical company that I called. Out of the 11 other companies, only two got back to me and never showed up for their scheduled appointments. Gentec was the only company that answered the phone, and Al and Ryan came right on time the next day. We had a lot of tedious work to be done, and the crew was efficient, detailed, professional, and just all around super helpful. They were adaptable and helped us decide on placement and design. A huge thank you to Al, Ryan and Dylan. It is always a pleasure to work with genuinely nice people.
In the future, as we continue to update our new house, Gentec will be the 1st company I call.
