Yevgeny was excellent! So my buddy asks me a favor to help him out because he has to work and set up an electrician to come by to fix some stuff at the house. He gave me a number of an elctrician to fix some electrical issues with the house.

I called General SF and spoke with Yevgeny. Yes his English is not perfect but we had no communication issues. He arrived in a timely manner. Looked over the issue and gave his recommendations. When my buddy gave me the go ahead to tell him what to do, not only did he fix the problem but he did so in a way you can respect him. He fixed the issue but during the job he encountered some oddities that made the job very frustrating yet he didnt waiver. He hung in there despite how difficult a large part of it was until the situation was fixed. When he went to the hardware store to pick up parts he even called (very responsible) to say was stuck in traffic and so I knew he was delayed coming back.

I would recommend him and use him if I had issues.

Disclaimer: no work was completed this review is in regard to the complete lack of response and Yevgeny leading me to believe he would work on my remodel and then disappearing after I went to the planning dept, wasted an entire day, and paid for the permits.

Basically I called generalSF for a quote for a basic kitchen remodel: install kitchen cabinets, some drywall, prep the the surface for counter top install, a little light plumbing for a new fridge and relocating a gas line. He seemed very interested and helpful at first and I felt really good about our first conversation. He quoted me about $6k for the whole job which i thought was not bad. He insisted the first step was to go pull permits for the project and once I had done that to call him back to schedule the work to commence. I don't know if there is a language barrier or what but I went the NEXT day paid the $600 and pulled the permits with the city. When I called Yevgeny back he insisted that he was completely on board and to submit everything through his website so he would have a record of the address and the job etc. Which I did 3 times. I called to make sure he received it, he said he would look and that he was very busy. No response. I called again, again I was assured that he would take the job and that he would call me back. A week I wasted waiting around for this guy, even turned down a reputable contractor that was a bit higher but could start ASAP, not to mention that I didn't even need to pull the permit the contractor is supposed to. Really frustrated that he wasted my time and lead me on. I know we didn't have a contract but I am just really sick of all these flaky contractors out there. Ended up going with Yiu Wong Construction and they have been awesome so far.

Yevgeny is awesome! Highly recommend him. He has been to our house about 4 times now, fixing a variety of plumbing and electric problems. He is honest and good-hearted and very reasonably priced. He works odd hours (including very late at night sometimes) but if that works for you all the better. He is also a conscientious guy who will advise you on various other things he sees as problems as he looks around your house to fix the problem you called him for. Yevgeny is a safety-first guy and he takes pride in doing a good job for a great price. He is also pleasant to have around, which is important when someone is inside your home.

It's been very dry winter in bay area, and one evening about 10 days ago I was so grateful that we were finally having some rain on my way back home. That, in fact, quickly turned into a problem for me, when I found a puddle in my bedroom by the water leak from one of the windows. It was already close to mid-night, so I put some towels underneath, and started calling around early next morning to get some help quickly.

That's how I got contact with Yevgeny at around 7:30am. He was very thorough even during the initial call, asked right questions while dealing with my frustration and devastation, and came over in next a couple of hours with the tools and materials to mend the window leakage. As soon as he arrived, he spotted root cause of the problem quickly, and started sealing the windows, which was one of many other poor job done by the previous contractor to cut corners, while 'renovating'(=flipping) the house before I purchased it last year. So, long story short, I asked him to check out all other windows as well, and not surprisingly, what started from one window frame leak had led to discover that all other windows not sealed on the top edge. Basically, the previous contractor didn't seal the top edge of any windows because it is not visible from the eye level, and sealed all other sides, even where should be left open for water escape, which could've cause the flood if there was a heavy rain.

Once spotted the amount of problems, Yevgeny made some calls to move his schedules around, so that he could fix all the windows correctly & quickly, as it was going to be rainy for next 3 days. He was very thorough & knowledgeable with extensive & broad experiences in fields, shared his findings & approaches honestly & clearly with me, and made sure I could feel comfortable with the problems & coming up with solutions, which could be quite overwhelming and frustrating for an inexperienced house owner.

He stayed for the whole day until late to make sure everything is in order, cleaned out, and even offered me to come back to fix some other little things that I have going on around the house. I'm glad that I found a good, trustworthy contractor who I can see working together for next many years. Thanks again!

What a nice guy. He offered to help me over the phone without charge. I sent him some photos, he looked them over, called me back and confirmed I had wired everything correctly. He graciously took time out of his day to help out a DIY'er over the phone and said from the first minute he wouldn't charge me a dime!

I told him I was going to try buying a different brand of hardware, he said if that didn't work he would try to schedule a visit when he was already going to be in the area so he could come by without charging hundreds of dollars.

This experience speaks volumes about his character and based on that I would recommend him. He seems to more focused on helping people than just collecting money, we need more professionals like him!

Yevgeny has been to our house twice; first he wore his plumber's hat, then we asked him to come back with his electrician hat on. Both times, he took less than an hour to knock out our problems, talk to us about our plumbing and wiring and then was off. He didn't even charge us the second time. He was super prompt, courteous and efficient. I asked him a ton of questions and he was helpful and explained everything fully. He's not only a super nice guy, but has a strong understanding of houses in the Sunset and San Francisco and their idiosyncrasies.

We are planning a big remodel which will involve tons of electrical and plumbing work and I hope to work with Yevgeny throughout that process. I feel comfortable asking him his opinion on things that will have a major impact on the future of our home.

We got a new hot water heater replaced by him. We recommended him to our neighbor who also got a ~20 yr old hot water heater replaced. I should have done this earlier because the water temperature works so much better. He was excellent as usual. After my friend told me about how he got his replaced by a random guy who was cheap and caused additional problems because he didn't ground the wires on top, didn't flush the system, etc...we are very happy with Yevgeny. Highly recommend him.

Had a problem with low water pressure in the kitchen faucet and no water pressure on the dishwashing machine and pot-filler faucet. Yevgeny showed up on time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem on a Sunday. He also responded to my questions pertaining to a wall leak during heavy rain (possible roof /vent issue to be checked at a later time with a ladder) and was pro-active in evaluating and providing constructive feedback to questions. Something he has that money cannot buy is his honesty (tries to save you money) and ability to diagnose problems quickly and accurately. When asked how much is the damage, he simply asked me to give him whatever I think is fair......that is a first for me from a contractor. I just hope I gave him enough. He is certainly on my A-list for any home repairs that comes up in the future.

Yevgeny returned my phone call immediately unlike the other three contractors I called. He was punctual, super kind and super knowledgable. he fixed my blocked toilet super fast and then took the time to check my kitchen plumbing that had been giving me problems. Even my 17 year old son commented on the genuineness of Yevgeny and just how much you could tell he took his projects seriously. Very reasonable in price. Just a very pleasant experience all around.

I had a problem with my garage drain (basically clogged up after the rain in the weekend) and am clueless about plumbing. Yevgeny came highly recommended by our neighbor.

He came 5 in late (but called that he was on his way) and got to work. Clearly he knows his craft and is thorough. Explained things extensively had great suggestions. I would definitely use him again!
