I would like to give Yevgeny 6 stars. He is such a super great person.

Half of the kitchen's electrical outlet was not working, because I used microwave, coffee maker and electric kettle at a same time from same outlet. I thought fuse has burnt because the fuse could not turn on/off.

When I called Yevgeny, he told me to send picture of fuse box and outlet that I used. After that, he returned my call and just taught me how to reset fuse by the phone. Then, my kitchen electrical outlet started working again! And he also suggested me that replacing outlet. Everything resolved by the phone.

I had such a great experience with him & I'll definitely get back to him!

What you want in a plumber is someone to show up fast (you've probably got a clogged drain or burst pipe), quickly diagnose and solve the problem, and charge you a fair rate. Yevgeny and General SF provide all that!

30 minutes after I called him about an overflowing vent attached to the dishwasher he was at the house sleuthing around to find the problem. After flushing out this drain and cleaning out that pipe he solved the problem and we could rejoice in the knowledge we'd no longer be washing dishes by hand.

And did I mention this all happened before lunch and for a responsible price. Feels good to know I've got a reliable plumber on speed dial.

I was very pleased with Yevgeny's prompt response, general availability, easy demeanor and his willingness to work with us to make us truly happy. He gave a more reasonable estimate than other plumbers and then worked with us on the price to come up with a fair price! We were looking to get two toilets replaced in our house and I started Yelping all possible plumbers that could do the job. Came upon General SF's page and was hooked by all the amazing reviews, so I gave them a call. Yevgeny is probably the most honest, hard-working contractor/plumber/handyman I've ever worked with. We hit a few snags during the job (not at all Yevgeny's fault, but rather my store-bought materials that were damaged out of the box). Yevgeny took the time to come to my house late at night to work on the project, explained everything along the way and just made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. He never rushed, probably because he takes pride in his work and wants all of us to be 100% satisfied at the end.

Our project took a few days to complete and I'm very pleased with the results. In fact we called Yevgeny back a few days later to clean out bathtub and sink drains that needed some immediate attention. He came out (once again extending his hours into the evening to make it comfortable for me) and did a fantastic job.

I know who I'm calling for any future work around the house...

May I start by saying that if it was possible to give 6 stars, I would.
Yevgeny Dubinsky with General SF exceeded all expectations and without hesitation I give him the highest possible recommendation. He is the most honest, hard working, and detailed contractor that I have ever worked with, and his rates are incredibly reasonable considering the outstanding quality of work done.

I have included a high amount of further detail below for anyone that would like to read more.

Yevgeny did a closet/pantry expansion project for me that ended up going many weeks past the estimated original timeline through no fault of his own (many unexpected bumps, including a foundation issue that we discovered after work had begun). I ended up getting to know him very well and spoke with him in person almost every day during that period, often for 15-20 minutes or more - this included Sundays - and he is as hard of a worker as you will ever find.

My experience in all that time was above and beyond, A+, and without exception he has been unbelievably detailed and thorough with not only the work itself, but also explaining how and why, in person, what the correct way to do something (whatever stage, or item, or challenge that problem presented).

One word about phone communication with Yevgeny that I feel is important to note: He does have a slight accent and so occasionally over the phone it can be difficult to understand something he was explaining, and there was more than once that I slightly misunderstood him initially - however, when we connected in person, it made 100% sense when we were able to talk it out in person. There's no doubt that the fact that with his accent + english is not his first language can present occasional barriers to understanding each other clearly on the phone. The way he speaks can occasionally be confusing, especially when he is busy or has something else going on in the background. That said, he actually has a very good command of our language and is a very smart guy, so in ALL circumstances, our communications were excellent and very clear and well-understood in-person. So in sum, phone communication can occasionally be challenging with Yevgeny, but in-person is never a problem and in fact he always goes above & beyond to make sure the customer is 100% completely on board and clear with the next step(s).

I have also found Yevgeny to be 100% honest and forthright and ALWAYS looking for ways the customer can save a bit of money while still keeping the integrity of the work and the materials at the highest level. Which I think is highly unusual and rare from most contractors. I have a feeling that very few contractors are this detailed and this honest and this good, and still have extremely reasonable prices, especially in the city.

In summary, the final product at completion has 100% not only met but EXCEEDED my expectations in every regard, and that includes the revised price after all the extra work that was required.

We had a bathtub drain that busted and started a leak in the garage. This triggered a major issue with mold and asbestos so the sheet rock was removed. Yevgeny came the same day I called him to give me an estimate, which turned out to be very reasonable. He also moved his schedule around to accommodate us so that he could start the next day.
He ended up doing more work for us because he's such a perfectionist. He and another person worked the entire July 4 (holiday!) and even cleaned up after on their hands and knees to wipe the garage of sheet rock dust. He is wonderful and we are very appreciative. We will use him again.

Yevgeny is fast, efficient, honest, reasonably priced, and a delight to work with. I called him on Sunday afternoon to report a plumbing issue at my parents' house. He agreed to visit at 11am the next morning, and he arrived on time (he even called me twenty minutes before his arrival to confirm the visit and let me know he was on his way). He quickly discovered what the plumbing problem was, quoted a very reasonable rate, and took care of the issue in no time. He was also very kind and professional with my parents, in particular my Dad, which I greatly appreciated. The consensus with my family is that Yevgeny is terrific and we will definitely use him for all of our future plumbing/contracting jobs.

We had a strange leak coming from the bottom of the dishwasher and wasn't sure if it was a plumbing or an appliance issue. Yevgeny came over and removed some gunk from the vent thingy near the sink and Voila no more leak. Nice to have a quick resolution to strange problem. returned call. he sped things up by asking to have photos texted to him for a realtime, online evaluation of the situation. he knew it could be a quick fix and so fit us in his busy schedule.
