Hired this company to wire a brand new dock, tiki hut, snook light and boat lift. work was performed and completed. Next day I lowered boat lift i to the water... It stopped working!

I called and called for over a week leaving messages to no avail. Finally resorted to calling his wife who got him to return and do the repair work.

Four months later after installing a ceiling fan onto the box provided by Gault discovered that the switch would not send power to the fan.

Again, I began calling and leaving messages to no avail. I sent a scathing email to Gault and copied his wife. (I retained communication records.) She got the repair work completed.

He told me a tale of how he has cancer which is interfering with his work and he is selling his property in St James City and retiring to the Florida Keys. BTW, at that time, he was about 40 years young and seemingly very healthy. As of this writing, he remains in St James City and actively engaged in the Electrical business.

Point... I believe he is a habitual liar!

Fast forward three years, I learned that Gault was trashing my good name for his shortcomings... telling a neighbor that I was a stalker.

He was the highest bidder on my project. In spite of his trashing the dock builder that built my dock, I hired him. He stated that the dock builder (Williamson Bros) does not pay his bills.

There is seemingly a pattern to Gault's M.O. He is not a very nice person and he is a horrible businessman!

Mike was kind enough to come out immediately on a Saturday afternoon of a holiday weekend to assess an issue we had with a tripped breaker to our master bedroom outlets. He determined it to be a bad breaker and quickly retrieved and installed a new one, solving our problem. We have used Mike's services before to rewire our boat lift and install a generator outlet. He is always quick to respond, thorough, efficient, and professional. We have recommended his services to our neighbors who have all been very happy as well. We are so glad to have found a great electrician and highly recommend Gault Electric South!

In late August, I contacted Gault at the recommendation of the company I hired to install a boat lift. Mike responded quickly and came out the following day to meet with my son and me. Mike indicated it was a simple job that they could handle easily. I explained it wouldn't be happening until later in the year, which he said he completely understood.

I communicated with Shelby in his office after the initial meeting, offered to give a deposit, and was told it wasn't necessary. She said they needed one week's notice when we knew the lift was being installed. In mid November, I reached out to Shelby to tell them of the lift install on 12/1. Shelby responded saying she would speak with Mike; after a few days of no response, I reached back out and was told Mike was working a lot and would get back to me.

My son was able to speak with Mike, and he expressed how busy they are but didn't say he wasn't able to do the job. After I emailed Shelby AGAIN after not hearing back, she then responded saying they were unable to do the work.

The communication was so poor. They were dishonest and didn't follow through. Very unprofessional and unexpected! I quickly shifted gears and lined up another company within days, thankfully.

I would never have imagined my experience with Gault would go in this direction from our first meeting with Mike back in August.

This company came to my home to install a ceiling fan. Based on needing one additional part for the installation a future appointment was set. This company decided to disconnect and remove my wall outlet that operates my present ceiling fan and left it open with exposed electrical wires. not only did they not return to do the job they left my wall electrical wires exposed which is a hazard. I called and texted them several times and they never replied back. I called them on a different phone line and they answered their phone. Very poor business practices and I would advise that no one use their services so you don't have to experience what I went through dealing with this company. Totally unprofessional and not trustworthy.
