Gonzalo is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I asked him to give me an estimate to repair a electrical outlet I thought to be not sufficiently grounded. He came over within the hour and inspected my wiring and told me it was okay. Therefore I didn't need his services. I wanted to give him something for his time and professional opinion but he didn't want anything. I would not hesitate to call upon him the next time I need an electrician.

I moved to a new house and suddenly realized that I don't have 240V to run my electric dryer. I had to choose between either going through the trouble of selling my old dryer (which I very much like) and buying a new one operated with gas - or somehow finding a way to wire a 240V outlet in my laundry room. I didn't keep my hopes up for getting this job done for a reasonable price, nevertheless I gave Gonzalo a call as he was the only electrician nearby who was responsive over the weekend. He came right away (within the hour!) and approached the problem very professionally (he promptly went to look at the panels and crawl space to find the best and fastest solution). It seemed like a lot of work but in the end he agreed to get it done right away! He drove out to Home Depot to buy the right parts and after hours of hard work, he finally solved my problem just exactly as I was hoping and for a very reasonable price. I was able to wash and dry my clothes the same evening!! There was no need to waste my time on posting any of my appliances on Craigslist, scheduling appointment with potential buyers, purchasing gas dryer and turning my laundry room upside down so that movers could hook up the new one where it was supposed to be. I am also grateful for not having to take a day off from work. What a relief! Gonzalo made a very good effort despite that the task was quite complicated (he even cleaned up after drilling the wall!), he was quick, reliable and the price he asked was affordable. I would call him in any emergency situation and would highly recommend him to anyone!

Great job in our 120 year old house, moving us into the modern age, replacing our old panel and running a number of new lines into our house. Gonzalo was very patient as he had to sort thru all the historical ideas someone had about how to wire this house (none of them good). He was also good about working on two Saturdays and several days in between. Now our place actually runs well and it was a pleasure to have him fix everything.

Definitely recommend Gonzalo for electrical work!!! He recently upgraded my old Federal Pacific main panel outside and subpannel iside the house. He also dealt with all the permits and inspections to make sure we have power right away and managed the installation and upgrade with the city inspector. I am thankful he was able to find a valuable solution and understand our project requirements, because other electrical firms weren't as flexible to accommodate our job from what needs to be done. Everyone else wanted to do a job and upsell a ton of other work that really drove the estimates up through the roof, while Gonzalo was pleasure to deal with and resolved all snags with creative workarounds. I am looking forward to hiring him for more jobs, because he is courteous, reasonable, excellent hardworking worksman and a great guy to deal with. Thanks Gonzalo

Gonzalo recently installed a sub breaker in our garage and was professional from start to finish. He came over the next day to look at the site, provided a reasonable estimate two hours later, and completed the work three days later. My wife and I agreed that he was easy to talk to, clear and to the point. We will use him in the future and highly recommend him to others.

$200 ""Free Estimate""

Gonzalo showed up for a FREE ESTIMATE to look at why my pool pump mysteriously stopped working. As I stood by, he spent a few minutes in the pool house looking at the breakers/wiring and then went to his car to get some tools. Unbeknownst to me, he had clearly figured out what was wrong (blown breaker) and simply moved the wire to another unused working switch.

And viola, the pool pump was working again...but then he tried to CHARGE ME $200! What happened to the FREE ESTIMATE?!

Call me crazy but, you cannot show up under the guise of a free estimate and then start doing work that will cost money without the ADVANCED APPROVAL OF THE COST FROM YOUR CUSTOMER. He could see that I was shocked that he had done this without consulting me, so he quickly knocked it down to $150 (to move a wire). I begrudgingly paid it and I will never use GAP Electric again.

Had he just been honest and said ""it's an easy fix, this breaker is bad, just move this wire here, I can do it for you right now, just give me $50"" or whatever, and I would have been appreciative and agreed.

He then went on to recommended upgrading the breaker box and wiring, which I agree is needed, plus I have lots more electrical projects (new hot bub, landscaping lights, etc.) where he could have made thousands of dollars but again, I will never use GAP Electric again.

Service Industry 101: YOU MUST GET YOU CUSTOMER'S ADVANCE APPROVAL BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK THAT WILL COST THEM MONEY. A FREE ESTIMATE SHOULD BE FREE.

Gonzalo Amador just finished installing an EV charger in the garage, a panel upgrade to handle the new circuit for the EV charger and moved my shutoff breaker for the hot tub. Gonzalo was neat, professional and did a fantastic job for significantly less than the other electricians. What made my day was when we got the electricity going for the hot tub Gonzalo stayed, looked over the circuitry and found the wire in the hot tub's control panel that had worked its way loose.

Gonzalo is an absolute pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing some electrical work.
