I've had AC service done by FPL in the past, & continually has a new service member each time. It's a rotating door at this company. Last week, the service rep told me I had mold issues in my A/C and the coils were rotting. He told me he could get a replacement unit for $6800, but I would have to ""sign the contract"" that day, otherwise he couldn't guarantee the price. I told him it's a lot of money & needed to do research. He was a bit annoyed & claimed he would be very concerned about this problem & should be addressed ASAP. I felt extremely pressured & uncomfortable. Needless to say, I have 2 blue UV lights that should be eliminating mold spores, if any. I contacted 2 A/C companies later that day & inspected my unit. Both said I had one of the cleanest units, and there was NO evidence of mold! I called FPL this AM to advise them of their service technician's misinformation, only to find out that the manager would not return my call, & instead, had that same technician that was at my home last week call me. He basically said the other 2 companies didn't know what they were talking about, & seemed upset because I called to report him. You definitely do NOT want to do business with FPL AC. You will not get honest answers - they're only there to sell their products with a significant mark-up!

Do not be fooled by FPL home warranty company. I submitted a claim for an electric failure due to normal wear and tear
And and it was denied without any consideration. Very poor customer service. Charged me $75 for a service call for which they did not even provide the service, I had to find my own electrician. The company did absolutely nothing for me in my time of need. Do not waste your money on this fraudulent home warranty. Here is the loophole they used to deny my claim.

Rating should be zero but not allowed

Do not use! Nothing but problems with the expensive a/c unit they recommended and installed. They keep coming out to repair the same problems and are charging us a ""handling fee"" that is a made up fee that only went into effect once J-T was bought by FPL. We have a contract saying there would be no out if pocket expenses and there are every time they come out which is frequently. They do not stand by their work. And they can't seem to fix any if the issues. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible communication, not to be trusted!! I received a post card in the mail offering $29.99 per air duct for cleaning. I called them up, and they told me that they would need to send a tech to give me an estimate. I asked them why they would need to do that when it clearly states on the card what the offer is. Her response to me was ""they need to count the duct""....I told her that I live in 800 square feet, and I know that there are only two. So, the price should be around $60 plus taxes, etc. The rep agreed with me, but said that they still need to send someone, and normally there would be a charge of $89 for that service, but they are waiving it as part of the special. So, I made the appointment for that Tuesday between the hours of 10-12. They called me the day before to confirm.
Tuesday comes rolling along, and I get a call from the tech asking me if I had a balcony, to which I replied no, not all of the condo's have balconies. His reply was ""that's a BIG RED FLAG!"" I asked him why, and he told me that they would need to vent the smell, chemicals, etc. and suggested Stanley Steamer!!
I then called FP&L back, and told them the situation. This time the rep told me that they don't service condo's or apartments!!! I asked her why that wasn't mentioned to me from my very first call to them. She had no answer, only apologized. I told her that when I signed up for the service, I gave them my address which included my condo number...wouldn't that have been a ""RED FLAG"" to them right then and there?? Same again on Monday when they called to confirm the appointment. I gave them the unit number once again. So twice they had the opportunity to catch the mistake, but they didn't.
I spoke to them yet again, and told them that they are false advertising, and why would the tech ask me if I had a balcony. He led me to believe that he would have been able to do the job if I had a balcony. At NO point in time was I asked if I lived in a house or a condo...a simple, normal question to ask when signing a customer up for this service.
To sum it up, I was offered a complimentary ""tune up"" on my unit...which includes cleaning the air ducts!!! What!?!?
I'm completely hesitant and leery to have them come over for fear that they may ""find"" something wrong with the system.
No thank you!!

Have Service contract + 12 year warranty parts and labor on ac system: then paid for $129 for service call today
Result: I'm sorry we're going to have to order that, will call you Monday if it's in stock. No we can't get you a portable AC unit.
Really?

Signed up for a maintenance agreement contract. First time they came out to service the ac's it cost $900 to replace a coil. They came back for the second maintenance and it cost me $3,500. I wasn't having any problems with my ac's. Second visit the rep. told me I had mold in the ac unit and should install 4 Patriot Blue tubes each costing $765. and 2 Natures Home UV bulbs. each costing $194.65. I asked the tech. how much it would cost and he said he'll let me know after he completes the job.
Stupid me for saying yes to this extra work that clearly didn't need to be done.
Watch out they are scamimng people.

This company has the worst customer service. First the process to file a service repair is like 20 steps, fill out form , virtual meeting and service person come to see the appliance then order the part that they already knew they need in the first place. wait to receive the part. This whole process is taking more than a month since my claim. 2 reschedule appointment,Without even calling you so you don't waste your time waiting. I don't recommend. Goodluck! if you still thinking on signing up with this company even after reading this review.

Horrible a/c company they lie and have attitudes when they show up. Brand new A/C installed 15 months ago then a safety switch installed that never functioned- major water leak through the ceiling, they took no responsibility..... there are better companies out there.

I was very unhappy with this warranty service. Very disorganized. Even though dishwasher is included very little repairs are covered. They don't meet their published response time frames. Repair costs are quite high.

We have been paying FPL Home Warranty for a year and finally needed a service call. The telephone agents are friendly and helpful and the service requests are handled fairly promptly. You can always get them on the phone. For one of our claims, it was dealt with satisfactorily, and they covered something not in their policy. For that we are grateful.
However, the washing machine of our washer-dryer system unit, went bad. I was told by two representatives that repair of the machine would cost more than replacement. So, they gave me the option of a cash payout for half its value or a full replacement. I opted for the full replacement. They sent me a link via email, which I approved. I called a couple of times in the following days and was told it was ordered from Home Depot. I should expect a call for delivery. That call never came.
Now, when I talk to FPL Home Warranty reps, they tell me that the claims department will only pay for half of our machine. The problem is, it's one whole unit; it's impossible for me to buy half a machine. I can't cut the machine in half, keep the working dryer and re-attach it to a new half of washer. I keep calling back, but no one will let me discuss this with the claims department. No one will connect me to a manager.
Our washing machine is making a racket that is disturbing the neighbors. It must be replaced soon. FPL is still unwilling to repair the washing machine because they say it is too costly. Yet, they expect us to throw away the whole unit with the functional dryer and only pay us for the broken part of the unit. This make no sense.
FPL Home Warranty has not honored their promise to replace our machine. They have no commitment to respect the warranty coverage they claim to provide. We are very disappointed. We thought that a large established company like this would be reputable. It appears that we were wrong. In the future we will have to look elsewhere for coverage and cannot recommend them to anyone else.
