Forster Pump & Well

We have had Forster servicing our sewer pump at our cliffside home (with the pump WAY down a steep yard and lots of stairs) since it was built in the 1980's and they have provided consistently excellent and reliable service. Today we had a bit of an unexpected emergency amidst ongoing construction on our road and they came immediately - literally within an hour or two - and handled everything professionally and efficiently in one stop. We were so grateful for the responsiveness and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I live in San Rafael and called the San Rafael Forster phone number to have my rain catchment system checked in November. They charge $170 an hour plus a fuel charge from the moment they leave the office BUT the office is in Petaluma!! They called to say they had a guy currently working on my street that could check the system. So they charged BOTH my neighbor and I for the same hour it took to go back and forth from Petaluma. A month later a bill for $350 came for less than an hour of reluctant checking. No repairs.

Forester put in an $8000 booster pump which supplies our house with water. This was in 2015 and it quickly started leaking. They came out and fixed it and charged us to fix it. Then it started leaking a year later and we had a Arolo out, who they have merged with Forster since. Now in 2021 the thing is leaking again. But this is not my complaint. I had them out when it started leaking again and they said they'd have someone stop by to take a look. Three days later the man, Dan, who came out said it was ""a big problem I'm going to be very expensive and we're booked out for six weeks"". Now having a large leak in our only water supply, and having waited for days for Dan to come out, i'm already not thrilled. But if they told me on the phone that they were booked out and that they would not be able to do the work right away and that they were going to charge me $261 just to have him come out for one minute to tell me that that would've been great. First pump lasted 20 years without a problem. Unfortunately there's not much choice of pump people in the area but please approach this business with caution and ask a lot of questions before having them out.
