I have probably only written a handful of Yelp reviews ever, but I recently received such great service from Roger that I felt compelled to share my experience and recommendation here.

Short version. Recently on a Monday and Tuesday evening I experienced some intermittent whole house electrical problems. Wednesday morning I called PG&E who immediately sent a rep to my house to investigate. By 9:00 am he had shut off power to my entire house and informed me he could not turn it back on until I had the Main Entry panel replaced, which would require a city permit for the work and city inspection when done. I had plans to be out of town beginning Friday, and had no idea how to even get the process started.

A friend recommended I reach out to Roger at Formosa. Roger took my info over the phone and gave me a reasonable quote for the work. He ordered a new panel, got the city permit and was at my home promptly at 8:00 am the next day (Thursday). He was extremely professional and well organized, explained what he was going to do in a way I could understand, and even asked me for my preference regarding how the new ground wire was routed.

I had to leave for work at 10:00 am. By 12:30 he had completed the work (including having the City Inspector sign off on the work and having PG&E reconnect the power). He sent me pictures of everything as verification. Less than 28 hours from shutoff to fully restored with a brand new main panel including all distribution breakers!

I could not be more pleased with the service he provided. Extremely professional in both performance and communication.

I've lived in this house 12 years and have had several electricians perform small jobs over that time. They were all decent, but nobody really gave me the sense of confidence in their work that Roger did. Roger will definitely be my ""go-to"" electrician for all needs going forward.

We quoted with top 10 highest rating electrics in Yelp review and are lucky to find Roger as our electrician for the panel upgrading. The team is very professional with the cheapest price and undoubtable work. Some Yelp reviews complained that he didn't response in time during the quote. That's understandable given the small family business is the most popular one among the bay area. Besides, Roger also helped us with the paper work for the city permit and pge application. Everything was done so smoothly!

Roger is very passionate about his work. He handled the project very professionally. I have Zinsco electrical panel which has potential fire hazard concern. Roger explained to me the danger of this panel may cause. He didn't push me to accept his offer, but let me make my own decision. When I decided to let Formosa Electric to replace my panel and upgrade my service from 100A to 200A, Roger handled all the paper works required by PG&E and city. He informed me the schedule as soon as the date was confirmed. On the day of the service, he arrived 15 minutes early and answered all my questions before he started the project. He saw my house has the wrong type of conduit installed by previous electrician, he explain to me the issue and correct the it. I was able to upgrade my electric service and replaced panel within 8 hours. I highly recommand Formosa Eletric to do the electric works.

Upgraded the main panel with only 2 space. My old main panel also had only space. They didn't ask or not even share what panel will be installed. As a customer, we felt it was wasted money because of poor or communication about the details and options in the project.

Edit: Yes it was a Tesla order and I couldn't get the details from them. But the situation could have been avoided by your proactive communication and having a future centric approach for the customer where you are installing.

I was referred by a friend who is in construction field for a long time. He highly recommended Roger for his professionalism and integrity. Also, I've heard his name mentioned many times before. Roger is probably the most popular and most reputable electrician among Taiwanese groups.

Working with Roger was a pleasant experience. The scheduling was easy. I know good licensed electricians are all very busy in Bay Area so I am fine waiting for him. He is the one and only guy from contact to onsite quote, and finishing the job with his helper. During the process, he treated me as if I am his friend and provided me helpful suggestions. He is very neat and quick with work, patient with my questions. :) His price is very reasonable for doing things right.

Look no further. You want a reliable and experienced licensed electrician to make your home safe!

This is the second time in a year that I've contacted this company do some electrical work without any response. Very rude and unprofessional. I would definitely go elsewhere. My prior review got a rude response from Roger which further shows a lack of professionalism. Get it together, Roger.

Recommend Formosa Electric! Excellent service and professional. I installed a new main panel. Roger's team came as scheduled and had good arrangements including PGE and city inspection. The job was done earlier than expected.
