Troy called me back when I had an electrical issue with one of my rentals. We talked for about 15 minutes and I really got a feel that he is very honest and he loves what he does. My rental is in mission Viejo and I live in the Bay Area. i explained to him what the issue was and he took the time to feel me in on the possible causes. In the end the issue was fixed by my tenant without him having to come out. Just a good person who knows his stuff. He is now my electrician of choice when an issue arises.

Troy has done a couple of smaller electrical repair jobs at our home in the past few years, but the latest project -- complete replacement of the 100A electrical panel -- confirmed that he is by far the best electrician we've ever hired. He is thorough, smart, sharp and detail-oriented... all the things any homeowner would or could ask for. He provided sound advice in dealing with the City of MV Building Department, took the time to pre-prep the new panel ahead of the installation date, and made sure we were up-to-code and correct, working closely with the inspector to ensure the job was 100%.

The best part of it all is that Troy is a really great guy, with a good sense of humor and an affable manner that makes it a pleasure to have him in our home. He'd be a great addition to any backyard BBQ gathering!

I would STRONGLY recommend Folkstad Electric to anyone looking for a professional electrician!

Troy did the work but in my opinion was ""stalling"" and ""taking his time"" to ""check"" things out (which frankly increased his billable hours by at least 33 % or more than it should have to fix a very simple issue), when all I wanted him to do is check the existing electrical connections that were shorting out the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and install a brand new fan. He spends way to much time trying to impress with what he knows about electrical and all I wanted from him was to make sure all was safe and install the new fan.

I would not recommend him to anyone beyond that.

We contacted Troy to install a chandelier in our formal dining room. He was able to get back to us immediately to do the installation. He is honest, friendly, and very knowledgeable when it comes to electrical wiring, installation, etc. Our porch light also had issues, and I asked if he can quote how much the service would be. Troy inspected the porch light and advised that he didn't want to take our money for a simple hardware replacement that I could easily do myself. After giving me information on taking care of electrical stuff, he even gave me tips on bass fishing. Overall, a pleasant experience working with him. He is highly recommended by our household.

He came to install a chandelier for me. I was impressed with his follow up and promptness. He sensed I was in a hurry and accommodated my schedule.
