During a recent electric outage that took place on a Friday afternoon, it was almost impossible to find an electrician who would come out to fix a problem resetting our master fuse box. Another company recommended Foley Electric. Foley responded immediately by having an electrician to our house in 1/2 hour. The electrian knew exactly what to do, and he fixed the fuse box problem in minutes. He was very friendly and clearly very competent. Foley gets 5 stars from me!

Our experience with Foley electric was amazing! We had an emergency need because a tree fell down on our property and knocked our electrical box down with the line. It was a Friday night on memorial weekend and they sent several men out to get us back up and running. They even dealt with PGE and the county for permits required to finish the job. Every one we dealt with was very courteous and professional. I would highly recommend them!

Sadly, I am sending this 1-star review in response to a visit by them on Dec 30, 2016, for installing 2 extra circuit breakers on account of a breaker that was overloaded. I'm posting this review because I got 2 letters from San Mateo county this year [2018] saying that the permits Foley got for the work had not received final inspections.

The work was done without a permit and seems to have caused 2 false alarms outside my condo and repairs to the [broken] alarm, for which I was billed $1580 and fined $500.

The extra circuit breakers were not to code. The code changed, on its regular schedule, on Jan 1, 2017; the permit was obtained by Foley electric in 2017.

John Philpot from Foley complained that of course circuit breakers installed in like September of the previous year weren't up to code, but I pointed out that these were installed Dec 30, with the work completed ~Jan 2, 2017.

Foley electric said they would pay the $1580 bill and sent me a document saying they HAD paid me this money, which was not true.

Quite a dreadful experience, which is not over yet, 14 months later! Hence the 1-star review.

I called Foley for an estimate for Kitchen under cabinet counter lights. I also said I have other rooms to check, (so it would be worth their time).
I was told They are very busy, and someone would call me back. I called again, but no call back. It looks like Foley only wants huge jobs!

I called Foley Electric after I could not get my original electrician to come fix a problem with a light fixture that was installed by him a year ago.

This company runs a professional operation. I called and actually spoke with a person! She took my info and I received a call back promptly. Eric came out to troubleshoot my problem. He had to order a part and called me when it came in to arrange a time to come back out. It's all fixed now and I am very happy with the work. Eric is knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. He even responded to my text when I had a question. This company understands customer service.

I am a local residential real estate agent who has been using the services of John Philpott and Michael Hansen at Foley Electric for years. I know when I give their names to clients I can count on expert knowledge and prompt service.

My most recent experience related to an unsafe panel located in a closet which is generally an installation that is no longer permitted. John came out to diagnose the problem immediately (on a week-end) and made provision for the homeowners' safety until the repair could be completed. He was also available to talk to the homeowners in the evening by telephone to discuss the diagnosis, estimated cost to repair and the permit process with the local jurisdiction.

I have nothing but the highest praise for these two! They are excellent and I am grateful for the support they have given me and my clients over the years!

I didn't realize they had a YELP presence until reviewing the invoice for this repair, or I would have written this review long ago!

Through just a phone conversation, John was able to diagnose what the problem might be without a service call--and he was right! He saved me hundreds of dollars on a service call and even though I have not used them yet--I certainly will in the future!

Called Foley thinking that the good Yelp rating would be trustworthy; they promised to come out and provide their ""great service"" but never showed up. Went with a different contractor, I suppose Foley didn't care for my business.

Very professional and responsive to customer questions and work order changes. Reasonable prices and in line with superior quality workmanship. They have done multiple jobs for our company.
