Boy we couldn't be happier! Ordered these guys to put in a generator for us, they quoted a couple months and it was, but once they started, they completed fast! Took about a week for the install, gas company, inspections, amazing company to work with! They started it up and it was even quieter than we thought. We set about replacing our portable 13000w gas generator, as the recent experience with Ian showed just how much filling up gas cans & the generator repeatedly during and after a major storm sucks.

A whole house, liquid cooled (think truck motor) automatic generator is the answer! We thankfully already have an in-ground 500gal propane tank, which limited the total cost of an already expensive project. Everyone, including our friends who'd already traveled this path, recommended Kohler over Generac. And yes, they're a bit more expensive, but more reliable and super quiet despite the size. .

30kw, Kohler RCLA30, would provide the least load shedding. Cane with an extended 10yr warranty and a $750 mfg cash rebate.

We interviewed three generator suppliers, including the one Kohler referred. The last visit, from founder Eric Beasley was both the most thorough and informative of the bunch.

The process is long and complex. Figure three months. Permits, three county inspectors, FPL meter service, HOA approval...that's just the administrative stuff. Concrete pad installation. Then electrical rewiring and installation of transfer switch, gas hookup and all the trenching to accommodate the new unit.

FPS handled it all. A clear written process, with specific dates, conscientious work and a thorough start-up shakedown. Excellent all around!

I used Florida Power Solutions to install a home generator and they got the job done, but it was a long and slow process. In the end, they got the job done.
One weakness was communication from the office. I believe they got some new help in the office and it did get better.
At one point, they were waiting for me to do some paperwork, but never let me know, so there was a delay.
They also had me get another property survey for $350 out of my pocket, which turned out to be unnecessary. All I got was an ""Oops, sorry about that"" from them.
Once everything was scheduled, it went off smoothly.

These guys are simply incredible! They installed a whole house generator for me and my wife.

They got it done sooner than the other 2 firms which I had quoted on the job. It takes a while to get the equipmen, and they beat the others by at least 1.5 months.

The installation was pristine, and the training was exceptiomal.

Don't bother to get three quotes like I did.....just hire these guys!
