I would start this review by stating that I'm an ex shop teacher and VERY particular on workmanship and safety issues, that's why my neighbors value my referrals for contractors. Four companies bid the main electrical panel upgrade/replacement. Other bidders wanted to do the job without permits, wire the box ""hot"", use cheap panels, or not include the stucco work. Because of these dangerous and cheap shortcuts, most of their bids came in cheaper. The nightmare of dealing with SDGE for their pre-approval and their three week timelines for a disconnect date was balanced by Leo and Mark of Fixacal, who were very through in surveying the job for the quote, explaining the process with attachments to the bid, and detailed load calculations that others did not know how or take the time to do. They handle the scheduling and give constant text updates of upcoming milestones. Leo and Mark did the pre prep and the panel replacement on the scheduled disconnect/reconnect day; you could really tell these two enjoy their work and working with each other. Pride of workmanship is rare these days, and running rigid conduit using laser levels contrasted with those who would eyeball it and say good enough. The wiring of the breakers usually hidden by the cover was literally a work of art with careful bends and wireties. As a cabinetmaker early in my career, I always signed my pieces in an inconspicuous space. I'm sorry I missed the opportunity to have them sign the inside of the panel, but proud to own a small piece of their artistry. The stucco match and paint, usually farmed out or left up to the homeowner were part of the job and done by their stucco guru so it matched perfectly.

I did'nt actually use this company mainly because his quote was 33% to 42% higher than all the other licensed electricians I contacted. All licensed electricians were given the exact same photos of the inside of the cabinet and a detailed explanation of what we wanted done. It was a simple job using the existing conduit to install a box and outlet flush iinside the cabinet above the range for the installation of an over the range microwave. This quote was more than the cost of the microwave. just thought consumers should be aware.
