Six weeks ago I heard their paid radio program advertising an inexpensive tune-up/inspection for new customers. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday with no problem. The rep called me to confirm the appointment and ask if I could move the appointment to Monday. I told her I specifically asked for a Saturday appointment because of my work schedule. A man called me back in a few minutes and explained that they reserve the weekend for emergency call-outs. I explained why I needed the appointment to be Saturday and that is the way they are going to have to have it. So much for being a ethical company run by people who keep their word. Thanks for nothing. Steer clear unless you want to get burned.
Nancy S.Our secretary at church called in the request on her cell phone. She had called early on Thursday and was given an after 2 pm time on Friday. We waited until after 4 before canceling. We had water spewing from the kitchen area.
My fan wasn't blowing on my AC unit so I called go have it diagnosed. I waited 4.5 hours. When the service man arrived he spent 8 minutes assessing the situation, then he told me the fan was broken and needed to be replaced. He said he could do it for $880 bucks. I told him I couldn't pay that and just asked him to write down what was wrong. He became extremely defensive and told me he wouldn't because I would go get it cheaper elsewhere. I told him I was paying the 69 bucks service call for him to diagnosis it, but he still resfused. He gave me no papers besides a receipt. I got online and found the part for 79 bucks. Thanks for taking advantage of people, I will not call again.
We have been long time customers of 5* (12+yrs). 10+ years ago we bought a new HVAC system from them. The salesman didn't truly listen to me about my allergies. The new system didn't do the job so we must double filter, which voids the warranty. At first we had 1 tech for several years. After he became ill and passed away we now never know who we are going to get. Paul V. was an hour+ later than he said with no apology or phone call to let us know. Last year our tech said a part was reading a bit low in our air conditioner. This year Paul (different tech) said everything was fine = now who do we believe? This has been a good company in the past, but I would like the same tech for several years. Overall we have been happy, but it has not been a perfect experience, by any means.
Paul c from five star plumbing heating and cooling fished my earring out of bathroom drain today. He was here promptly from original call, efficiently did the job, explained five stars other programs, charged a nominal fee for the work done. Turned out the plumbing under the sink had been glued so it wasn't easy. We will request Paul if we need plumbing help in the future!
1 hour & 20 minutes labor to diagnose and repair. $30 in parts. Charge $450. You be the judge. I won't be fooled again.
Very nice, professional and prompt technicians but ridiculously expensive.
Myrna H.5 star has the most knowledgeable and courteous associates you could ever want to invite into your home for service. They are timely and polite. We have used them for electrical, plumbing and we also had them install a new heating system. You could not ask for better. They let you know exactly when they will be there and keep that appointment.
Eddie Debbie S.I had a pop-off valve leaking by. Had Five Star come out and Paul gave me an estiimate to replace pop-off valve. Said he would reroute my drain line for free. Yeah, right. The pop-off valve was 451.00 and he tok more copper pipe than he replaced. I WAS THE FOOL! His other option was over 1,000.00. Never again!!!
Pop-off valves are between 20.00-30.00.
