Horrible company that insults and grossly overcharges. Stay away from them. Said all doctors did not pay their bills after I questioned their wanting to charge $200 for an estimate,no work. On phone they quoted 100 .This took 20- 30 minutes in garage including his asking medical advice and wanting to see a clock I made. Stated I took advantage of Christians, odd since I did medical missionary work . 10 years. They wanted $2000 to install 3 outlets. Got it done plus 3 more and an a/c connection for $1600.

Worst customer service ever! The woman who takes calls is so rude, she should not be allowed to engage with potential customers. Honestly, I think they did not want to drive to where I live after making an appointment. I ended up using another electrician. Their trip charge was 1/3 of this company. Credit where credit is due:
the owner, after I asked to speak with him and was told I'd have to stay on hold for 1/2 hour, attempted to correct situation. By that time I had had enough of this company. Just say, NO! to this company.

The moral of this review is, choose your electrician for big jobs WISELY. Unfortunately, there isn't a rating of ZERO stars because that is what Father and Son (F&S) deserves. I hired F&S to install a generator (whole home for my home that is roughly 5200 sq ft) before the hurricane that hit us in NC late 2018. What a complete mess! The job started early Sept. 2018 and just finished end of Feb 2019 with a successful inspection by Lancaster county, FINALLY. The deal for my whole home generator was paid as turn key (60% of the money upfront and the remaining when the initial installation was complete, in Sept. 2018). Long and the short, the generator was installed and wired COMPLETELY wrong, components I purchased (upon direction of the turn key system drafted by the owner himself) was insufficient and during the installation the power was not correctly connected and blew up my Sonos amp. F&S made no attempt to offset the expense. The amp wasn't cheap but it is what it is... F&S owner asked me for more money to cover his subpar inexperienced installers and insufficient equipment in the contract because the repairs/replacement of the system was several thousands of dollars. He asked me ""to split the costs"" with him EVEN THOUGH I literally just finished paying 13,000 for the generator and installation in the first place. Needless to say, I refused. F&S made no less then 5 trips to my home to patch, fix and try to recover the initial installation. F&S had to hire an external expert to audit the system to find issues that were outstanding in an attempt to patch remaining items to ""pass inspection"" (they didn't know why modules were not working for example... oh wait, because they were connected completely wrong!). The expert found nearly 2 full pages of issues with the system (from installation, to broken parts, to wiring ""to code"" issues.. the list was extensive). Ultimately to fix the system correctly and most importantly to pass code (i.e. be safe), the expert had to spend 2.5 days to uninstall and re-install the entire system INCLUDING changing from a meter box combo to a meter separate box configuration. What this means is, my entire home was without power as ALL of the wiring in the ENTIRE house had to be completely redone. The initial installers also broke the manual fail over switch that had to be replaced (the owner originally tried to find a way to patch this part as well). I also hired F&S during this generator mess (at the beginning) to fix an outlet in my home. The installer spent less then 15 minutes and charged me 95.00 (because they only charge by hour) even though they were ALREADY at the house trying to fix the generator install. The F&S owner basically said, its 95.00 ... period. The F&S personnel never made me aware of their rates as I would have NEVER asked them to fix a receptacle I could have likely fixed on my own. Live and learn, I guess. Needless to say, this company has NO quality control, are money hungry (asking for more money even after the contract was signed and paid on) and have NO business installing complicated generator systems. Be wise and steer clear. I hope this review helps the next customer to avoid this company at all costs!

Not Recommended due to poor customer service, and improper business practice. Overcharging, and inability to manage basic customer service issues. Our business Walgren Counseling PLLC have had to file a Better Business Complaint and also request a reversal of charges to our bank against Father and Son Electric Service Co, Inc. The details of the complaint and all supporting documentation can be found at https://charlotte.app.bbb.org/complaint/view/534932/c/f3mh2j

Business claims 2-3 hours of diagnosis time needed for a simple replacement that was pre diagnosed in under 15 minutes. Did not bill properly, charged for claimed time of $412.91 when on invoice you can see our signature for $278.95. When asked to address this concern was dismissed by the owner, ""Mr. David, we just don't want to do this job, you can have someone else do it."" and the phone was then disconnected. After a follow up call to attempt once more was told """"You need counseling, you should talk to your people."" as a direct insult.
Obviously we chose to use another company, however after direct letters of complaint and multiple opportunities to solve this professionally, we were forced to file a complaint to the BBB in which this business responded with inaccurate and false information all of which is disputable by the automated text messages, and their own invoicing. We regret having to post a review such as this but we feel that consumers must be informed of business practices such as this. All documents are available from Walgren Counseling PLLC by request.

very expensive service. overcharged for material and labor. drill holes were left in ceiling
$729 to install two light fixtures (which I supplied) with a switch for control and 1 outlet all within 5 feet, do not use unless unless you have money to burn, better still donate to wounded warriors. a fraction of an hour cost as much $$$$ as a full hour.

worst experience ever! I would never recommend them for any type of electrical work. Wiring was installed wrong and had to have another electrician come finish the job.

Great experience overall! My husband and I had one of the big box stores in our home on Saturday to install a backsplash in our kitchen. The installer ran into some issues with a couple of our outlets, which needed to be moved by an electrician in order for them to continue. I called Father & Son Electric that day and they showed up that evening to take care of the issues. The installer was both efficient and professional. The work was done within an hour. Thanks to Father and Son Electric I was able to have my backsplash finished by the next day. I am a very satisfied customer!
